Great Self-Guided Tour - Great guided tour. Dan was our driver/ guide and he was superb. He provided the right amount of information, and I enjoyed his "dad' jokes. The bike ride requires one to focus, as it is downhill and it is easy to quickly pick up speed, however, it is quite manageable. I would definitely do it again and again. I also enjoyed the initial visit to the top of the volcano.

A great experience - An amazing and thrilling experience. I was scared to death but did it with no problems! All people with the organization were pleasant and helpful. Everything ran smoothly. I highly recommend it.

Be like Billy. Our original tour guide gave us historical information and stories along the way. We had to do it again! - Starting in the clouds overlooking the ocean and valley below, you glide around turns through open cattle ranching along the rolling hills of the volcano. Ending in the oceanside town of Haiku.

Enjoyable bike tour down Haleakala Volcano - Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative about the volcano, the myths that surround it, and the views on the bike ride were breathtaking. Thoroughly enjoyed the ride.

IT WAS AWESOME - It was fun to ride down the volcano. Beautiful views and was not too difficult. It is unfortunate but understandable that we had to be picked up part way through and dropped off again as they closed a section to bike riders. It was still worth the trip. We would highly recommend it.

Not what we expected - Essentially the slow drive up the mountain was 3 hours. Our guide was nice but slow and very chatty (which was a bit awkward0. The actual bike riding was probably an hour or less. The ride from Makawao to the store was the best part. The volcano was nice too but probably could have been quicker. They didn't explain the gears very well. All in all it was not worth the money given the limited bike riding.

Poor Communications - The organizer canceled the trip via text but failed to cancel via the app. I noyified him but he told me it was up to Viator to refund the money. Thankfully, I was refunded by Viator after giving them the update. The ride was scheduled on 7/13 but the trail was closed on 7/11-15, according to the messeage. Therefore, the event should NOT have been scheduled.

DON'T DO IT!!!! - It was really bad. It should not be allowed. The road is very sloppy and there is no bike lane. You bike with cars on the road which is not shown in the pictures here. The weather was very bad, Raining with 18mph wind and they still allowed it. We still went on with it because of fear of missing out #FOMO. My wife fell on her left knee due to the wind within 2 minutes of starting the ride. And that was the end of it for us!! She had a fracture and had to undergo surgery. No one should do this! Only if you are skilled enough biker to bike up the mountain, you should bike down.
