Additional Information

Polynesian Adventure Maui excursions are up and running, all set to reveal to you the wonders of the island. As an effort to aid the rejuvenation of the west side, we warm-heartedly request your backing as we enthusiastically open our doors to tourists willing to discover other extraordinary areas of Maui that have remained unscathed.

Experience that classic Hawaiian sundown from an elevation of 9,740 feet top of Mt Haleakala, Maui’s volcanic crown in Haleakala National Park on the east side. While the majority of tourists choose the sunrise, we suggest you think about a dusk spectacle instead to witness the space display shower its illumination over Maui’s lowlands?

  • Please contact the tour provider at minimum of 7 days prior to the tour date for ADA and all special requests.
  • Haleakala is known for rapidly changing weather conditions and dense clouds and rain are common. As a result, clear viewing of the sunrise is not guaranteed, and the tour operates rain or shine. Refunds will be granted only when the tour is cancelled for safety reasons.
  • The high altitude at the summit area may complicate health conditions and breathing difficulties. Elderly visitors, pregnant women, young children, and those with respiratory or heart conditions should consult their doctor prior to touring. Walk slowly and drink water to avoid dehydration. If you have gone scuba diving, you should wait at least 72 hours before going on this tour.

just beautiful - Very unique experience. The views were amazing. Our guide Kaneala was professional, engaging and funny. When they say wear layers, they mean it! It's cold and super windy.

Sublime sunset and up close with a dormant volcano! - Great trip! Being up to 10,000 feet in less than a hour is mind blowing, then seeing the crater up close, topped by the spectacle that the sunset was: priceless! The drive to Haleakala was made special by Dino’s commentary, his one-liners, and the majesty of the location. We had enough time for a trek down to the crater or up to the summit, and a sublime sunset.

Fabulous Haleakala Sunset Tour!! - We had an amazing time on the Haleakala Maui Sunset Tour. Our guide Mitchell was very informative on the history of Maui. Once we reached the top of Haleakala the views were spectacular. We viewed the crater and of course the beautiful sunset. We were so happy we listened to the advice of the tour company and packed our warm jackets . When we left the base of the mountain and it was in the 80’s and when we reached the top it was in the 50’s with a brisk wind. A number of people said they wished they had our jackets. Our tour bus was immaculate. Overall, we would absolutely recommend this tour.

Amazing Experience - The scenery was amazing. Our tour guide Mitchell was great. He was very informative and made sure we got up and down the moutains safely. Would highly recommend this tour. Bring a sweater because it gets real cold at that elevation.

Totes worth the long drive! - Spectacular trip for National Park fans. Our tour guide, Mitchell, provided incredible insights into the history of Maui along the way from a Lahainan resident who has seen and experienced much since the August 2023 tragedy Take it from an amateur geologist: Mitchell and sunset cannot be beat. Native Hawaiian music even provided down the hill which lulled all 15 of us to sleep on the curvy road back. Breathtaking.

Picked up at 2AM at our resort. Had a wonderful trip to see the sunrise. Should have dressed much warmer - Very informative! Preston was fun and knowledgeable about the entire area. I would highly recommend this tour. Can’t emphasize enough—-dress warmly! Coats, gloves, socks, hats, warm shoes. Beautiful day for us but wind was sooooo. COLD!!

Amazing Sunset! - Our guide Mitch was very friendly and informative. The sunset was amazing! We highly recommend this tour! We could have driven ourselves, but we were glad we did not have to navigate the descent after dark.

not worth the money or time - I wish we knew more what to expect along the way. The first driver never spoke to us so we had no idea what was going on. For us, it was a very long and boring ride both on the way as well as on the way home. Thenview at the top cleared quite well while we were there so that was nice and we got some pretty pictures. I would never spend $400 + for that again, i recommend going by yourself and reserving park passes well in advance.
