Downhill biking fun - Drew was a wonderful informative and funny guide and kept us safe on the roads. The bus driver drove carefully and the entire team was helpful in all respects. Weather up top was cloudy but we still got to see the sunrise. We appreciated the warm suits and the bikes were in great condition.

Amazing Tour - well worth the early morning wake up - The Guided sunrise Haleakala Bike Tour was a great experience from start to finish. Despite rising in the very early morning , Marlon made us feel welcomed and energized us for the day ahead. It was clear that safety for all riders and staff was an important part of the journey. Marlon gave a great narrative on the history and culture of the Volcano, the community and Island on the way to the summit. After experiencing a great sunrise we were off to start our descent on the bikes. A puffy jacket well as long pants and gloves are recommended under the wind suits provided. It was quite chilly at the summit and you are there for at least 30 minutes. We did remove these as we descended into the town for breakfast. On our bike ride, We had Macala driving the van keeping us safe on the road and Russell as our bike guide. Russell’s passion for the Island, conservation of nature and biking shone through. He made our ride an awesome experience. Would highly recommend Russell and his team at Haleakala Bike Company.

Great experience even on a rainy day. - Although we did not get to see the sunrise due to it being a rainy morning, the bike ride down the mountain was amazing. Very knowledgeable and patient guide. Great group of people. Very fun time. Highly recommended

Great excursion! - Fantastic trip! Do remember that it is cold at that elevation. Gloves and a jacket are really nice to have. Don’t go in just shorts and take the wind suits that they offer.

Not for Kids!!! Excellent Bike Trip! - Riding the top of ride was best! Sunrise was great. The driver was friendly and gave us some great facts of the island. And our bike guide The "Marine" was very tentative to everyone's needs. If I did it again I would do the self guided trip. Once given instructions you could handle the bike ride. You have to feel comfortable on the bike tho. You get some Very Fast speed going! We're in our 60s and active. I'd book here again. They have backpacks rain gear tops and bottoms free if needed. Great Experence!!!!

Totally worth the early AM wake up - We’re so glad we decided to do this tour! There are so many to choose from on the island, but I feel that we made the best choice with this one! Our driver, Eddie, was terrific! He did an excellent job of explaining his culture and making us laugh at 4am! You can just tell he loves what he does! He took some pretty awesome photos of us! Observing the sunrise was an incredible experience! It was worth the 2am wake up. Highly recommend! The actual bike riding down after the sunrise was amazing and had phenomenal views! Drew also shared pertinent information and kept us laughing. Maholo to Eddie, Drew, and their team for such a fun morning on my husband’s birthday!

Great views and good folks, cold - Good tour guides, well organized trip to summit. Have to leave at 3:30am from the site. Very cold, pack your winter coat in addition to taking the company provided windbreaker jacket and pants. Guided tour stops traffic for you. Self guided is mostly same but you have to watch for traffic,

Eat breakfast before you come … - Note: as of this review, the description is not accurate. Coffee and breakfast stop has been eliminated. The pick up time is 3:30 am when nothing is open. If they were not providing breakfast before an extensive bike trip, it would have been nice to know ahead of time so we could have made other plans for ourselves. The tour itself was all the other reviews have stated. No regrets, just wish we hadn’t been exerting ourselves on empty bellies !

Rainy roads - The weather was not cooperative for our trip. It was freezing and raining at the summit so we couldn't see the sunrise. It rained while we rode the bikes. I also didn't realize we were riding on a road so that was a little disappointing, but it was still a fun experience.
