To the Top, just do it! - Sunrise was amazing above the clouds. We were able to go at our own pace on the ride down, so enjoyable. Breakfast in Makawao made the trip. Employees were extremely nice and gave a lot of insider tips.

Spectacular sunrise and fun bike ride! - The sunrise was spectacular. A must-see! Our tour guide, Eddie, was fantastic and made the whole day informative and fun. He gave us detailed and easy instructions the whole time so the bike trip was relaxing and we felt comfortable with all the different things that could arise. Really glad we did this — unforgettable day!

Don't Miss The Sunrise over the Crater - Sunrise was incredible and the bike stroll was very enjoyable as well. We stopped for coffee and some donuts in the local town half way thru the bike trip. Got a little wet bc we are riding in a rainforest and you never know, but it was still a nice ride. Mostly downhill riding on the brakes. Cars were very aware of you and passed when they could. NOW for the summit...dont underestimate the difference in temp up there. We did! We had pants, sweatshirts, and the windbreakers, but we needed GLOVES, BEANIES, and hand warmers! It only lasts for about 30-45 minutes, but it was brutal. Finally, our tour guide was great. Very informative, FUNNY, and made the 2 hour drive go by quickly. Highly recommend!

Best Excursion Ever on Maui! - The best experience in Maui! An amazing tour along the island, gear provided, and amazing staff! (Ask for Eddie) My boyfriend is an avid biker and I was a bit scared to ride but it was a very easy ride downhill for beginner bikers. While also providing a spectacular view around you. Plenty of photo opportunities and the most amazing sunrise I’ve ever seen. (If you do the morning shift bring a jacket). Overall an amazing experience with both a shuttle guided informative journey and self guided bike journey down the mountain. Safe enough for beginner/intermediate level bikers and beautiful ride for all level bikers. 10/10 would do it again!

A memory always cherished. - The sunrise was magical with the Hawaiian men singing as the sun came up. The Ride down Haleakala was better than anticipated. Eddie buddy was the best tour guide with great stories and jokes. I like the safety guidelines given.

Not bike tours fault but... - I am giving 4 stars because my issue is with the fact that you can't bike continuously but have to bussed through the middle section of what would otherwise be a terrific ride. It's not the bike company's fault but the fact the town voted to not allow them to operate there. If this changes it would be worth it. Until then, it's not worth the money and time. You'd be better off paying the park reservation fee and seeing the amazing sunrise on your own.

Fun day - This was a great experience! I’m really glad we did it! I feel like the bikes could have been better for example the handle bars should have been higher!

Not what you think - Our guide was knowledgeable and witty but the experience was falsely advertised and poorly executed, and way over priced for what we got. This isn’t a bike ride down the Haleakala volcano. This is a car ride to the volcano and then a car ride back down. You don’t actually get on the bike until you’re fully out of the national park, around 8am, and then you ride through a small primarily closed town and neighborhoods. Tons of unnecessary downtime. We were up at 2:00AM but barely made it to the volcano top in time for sunrise at 6:30am. So much time wasted with small talk on the bus when we could have made it the top earlier and gotten a better spot.

Sunrise Excellent / Bike Ride and Bike Maui communication sucked - The best part was watching the sunrise on Haleakala crater with a view of the full-moon behind us. The worst part was the bike ride down. Thanks to Maui County Council, the bike ride is limited to 6.5 miles. After sunrise, the Bus takes you from mm23 to mm9.5 where you get on your bike and ride to mm3 where you drop the bike off, get back on the bus, ride thru town, then get back on the bike and ride for about 2 miles to the bike shop. The second worst part was Bike Maui's communication skills. They suck!! The tour guide was supposed to give you a map to guide you to the bike shop. He told you about how to navigate down the mountain, but never provided you with a map as a reference especially in case you got lost. My family didnt know where they were going. It was during this time that my daughter fell off her bike while trying to navigate a speed bump. The bike landed on her and she hit the ground so hard, the front of her helmet busted. When I got to her, she was crying and in shock. I tried calling Bike Maui several times and each time, I got the answering machine. So I rode the bike as fast as I could to get help. About a mile later, I hit a pot hole a fell off my bike, bruising my wrists and elbows. Again I called and again got the answering machine. When I got to the Shop, I dropped off my bike and gear in the rear garage and went around to the front. When I went in there was nobody there! I walked around and called out hello, and got no response. It was so empty and quiet that I could have walked out with a pile of tshirts. I went to the back. By then, my family arrived. They dropped their stuff off and we went to the front of the store. This time the manager was present. He claimed he was there the whole time. Yeah, in a back closet napping. I told him what happened and all I got was a bunch of apathy. When we got back to our hotel, I told the concierge what happened. She said that she also had a tough time dealing with this company because no one would answer the phone. Until Bike Maui cleans up their communication skills, I can not recommend them.
