Watching the sun gradually ascend over Haleakala National Park and bathe the stunning island of Maui in its light is a unique experience that can only be termed as once-in-a-lifetime. With our Majestic Haleakala Sunrise Tour, you get the opportunity to witness this spectacle at the peak of Haleakala Mountain, a trip you will not forget.
When you reach the summit, our expert local guides from Valley Isle Excursions will ensure you enjoy the finest experience—they will show you the best spots to take in the view, share tips on how to see the sunrise at its best, and regale you with the island’s rich history.
Following the sunrise, we’ll take you on a brief tour of the rest of Haleakala National Park and the adjacent ranch lands.
End the tour with an exclusive breakfast at the Maui Tropical Plantation, where you’ll have three choices:
A – Muesli made with Stoneground grains, coconuts and Yoghurt, served with Fresh Fruits
B – A traditional Plantation Breakfast of Bacon, Portuguese Sausage, Scrambled Eggs, and Hash Browns made with Sweet Potatoes from Molokai
C – Mouthwatering Macadamia Nut Pancakes served alongside Bacon and Portuguese Sausage
- Because of the elevation gain, anyone suffering from breathing issues should consult with a doctor. We do have an oxygen generator on-board.

The Best Ever Haleakala Sunrise Tour - Valley Isle Excursions provided the best guided Sunset tour to Haleakala. Billy and Everett were fantastic.They made sure everyone had the best experience, provided excellent insights on how to get the best views of the sunrise. The warm ponchos they provided were absolutely the best and really needed by everyone. They made the early morning start really fun and the history and commentary they both provided was informative, interesting, fun and entertaining. Really was a magical tour.

Great Trip - This one is definitely worth it. Guides were very knowledgeable, trip is seamless. The views were worth getting up early for, nice breakfast on way back.

A stellar experience from start to finish! - Spencer and Everett were both very knowledgeable and led a great sunrise tour. The tour was well organized and the tour operator was very pro-active in arranging the pick-up logistics. The ponchos were a nice touch and the breakfast was delicious. The sunrise itself was stunning - a genuine once in a lifetime experience. I highly recommend this tour!

Totally worth it along up at 2 am. - This tour was so fantastic. Yes it’s an early start but totally worth it. Spensah was a fantastic guide who shared lots of knowledge about his home and was just fun to be around. The ponchos they provide are so helpful and keep you warm at the top!! Breakfast was a very pleasant surprise with delicious food in the most beautiful setting. I highly recommend!!

Do this tour! - We had a great time on this tour! We especially liked arriving at Haleakala before sunrise started and had options for a great view. And what a view it was!! The warm blanket ponchos that were handed out were great. Definitely wear warm clothes, hat, socks and gloves because it is cold and windy up there! The crater was amazing. Our breakfast location at Cafe O'Lei was breathtaking with the view, landscape and animals. Spencer and Everett were the best guides: great personalities, knowledge and experience. I would definitely want to be back on the tour with them both.

Amazing Experience - What an amazing experience! Our guides Billy and Alika were fantastic. Valley Isle was well organized, friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining. They communicated well ahead of time, kept to the schedule, kept us well informed, and ensured we had the perfect viewing spot for the sunrise. BTW: They provided us with warming ponchos that other tour groups looked like they wished they had since it was so cold and windy. It was incredible and worth getting up so early! Our family had a wonderful time and we highly recommend using Valley Isle for this adventure.

Family trip to Maui - Everett and Billy made the tour excellent. Not only did we have a safe trip to the summit and back but stopped for an awesome photo of our family. They gave us a lot of added information about the culture and history of Maui. Thank you for sharing with us!

Don’t hesitate BOOK IT! You won’t be disappointed! Breathtakingly beautiful! - This was one of the best tours that I have ever been on! I travel quite a bit and Billy who picked us up to Spencer who drive back with an awesome history and guide talk, we’re 2 of the best tour guides!

Beautiful Experience - Everett and Brian were wonderful tour guides. It was a very early hotel pick up, but I am so glad we did it. If you are coming from the states, you are going to be up early anyway because of the time difference. It is very chilly up at the top and the fleece lined rain ponchos this tour provides were very nice. The breakfast they take you to at the end of the experience was pretty good and the views at breakfast are great too.
