Comfortable Experience with the Best Tour Guide - David did a great job telling us the history of Hawaii and Haleakala on the way to the crater and sunset tour. We were fortunate to have good weather on the way and even as we arrived at the ranger station and fog rolled in it was only a short while before it cleared away and allowed us to view a beautiful sunset. The transportation vehicle was very comfortable and practically new. Several other different tours we had taken had less than good suspension and comfort in the days before this one making for a rough ride. We appreciated David's knowledge and well travelled experience of the world very much. He made us feel like family with many conversations in route. Bring a jacket as the temperature was in the high 40's F and windy!

Breathtaking Sunrise on Haleakala - Preston was an amazing tour guide who is very informative. He is very knowledgeable of Hawaiian agriculture, history and culture. The trip was very early but very much worth it. I do have one suggestion or rather a very important advice, PLEASE BRING A JACKET for this tour up the mountain. It is very very cold.

Outstanding Sunset - Nature at its finest!!! - Absolutely awesome experience. Our Guide, david, was wonderful. Highly recommend this for everyone. It is a long afternoon, from 2 pm - 9 pm, but definitely worth it. The views on the way up and down the volcano are fabulous At the top, it will take your breath away. Butm dress warm for the top..it is cold and very windy..Bring some snacks or a sandwich, as they do not stop anywhere for dinner. Bring water also.

Sunset is better than sunrise! - Amazing experience and totally worth it. Glad we did the tour bus and didn’t drive ourselves. It got really busy and it’s a long drive! Sunset is 1000xs better than sunrise, too!

Unprofessional pickup and drop off - The driver (Patrick) was 15 minutes late. He claimed ONLY 13 and that this was within a 'claimed' 15 minute window. NO APOLOGY! When we set meeting times, we expect people to be on time (or contact us with an ETA). NOT PROFESSIONAL! You had us meet several miles from where we stayed; while, your competitors picked up customers AT THE EXACT SAME PLACE THAT WE WERE STAYING (50 Hauoli Street)!

In the fog - Mitch the driver was good. Too bad the fog covered everything and the $ 400 trip was for nothing. ….

BEWARE of this tour. VERY expensive for the experience! - We paid more than $600 for the three of us to go to this. What we were told was a 7 hour excursion turned out to be picking us up and driving more than 1.5 hrs to pick others up to meet at a Safeway to go to the bathroom and buy snacks. We bought very little as we thought we might be fed something. We then got on a big bus that separated our family and drove another two hours to get to the summit. We ended up 1/2 mile from the top, because the tour bus can't park there. All of the visitor centers were closed, so the entire excursion amounted to a drive up and back down. The sunset was very lovely, but we could have driven ourselves in half the time. After getting dropped off, not at our hotel like other parties, but at a meeting spot, and then finally getting back to our hotel, there were no restaurants open for us to get food. The entire experience was 9 hours and a lot of money we will never get back. We thought we were going on a more exclusive tour. VERY disappointing to my whole family.
