It also marks the starting point of our tour. The drive to Hana, excluding stops, takes about 2 hours.

Ho’okipa Beach Park - Hoʻokipa offers excellent waves year-round and is a favorite spot for advanced surfers and windsurfers. In winter, waves can reach up to 30 feet, suitable only for the most experienced surfers. The beach also has a protected area for honu (sea turtles), where many come ashore to sleep at night. Ho’okipa Lookout provides a great view of northwest Maui and the Pacific Ocean, making it an excellent spot to watch surfers and windsurfers.

Wai’anapanapa State Park - This remote, wild, volcanic coastline offers solitude and a break from urban life. The park provides lodging, camping, picnicking, shore fishing, and challenging family hikes along an ancient Hawaiian coastal trail leading to Hana. It’s a great place to see a seabird colony and a natural stone arch. Other attractions include a native hala forest, heiau (religious temple), sea stacks, blowholes, and a small black sand beach.

Hana - After 52 miles of winding roads on the Hana Highway, also known as the ‘Road To Hana,’ you will arrive in Hana Town! This 4,500-acre area was once owned by the Unna Brothers, who raised sugar cane in the 1800s. In 1935, Paul Fagan purchased the area and started raising cattle. Today, Hana is owned by a group of local and mainland investors. Hana is a charming town that offers visitors a chance to relax and escape from their busy lives. In Hana, you can dine at one of the three restaurants, shop in small stores, and chat with the locals.
