Exceptional experience - An unforgettable experience and an absolute must if you’re visiting Maui! Having done many of the common activities on the island, I can confidently say this tops the list. Fabulous horseback riding experience! Well worth the trip and the price - My husband and I went on this horseback riding experience today. It was a bit of a trek to get there but it was so worth the time and the expense. I ride horses twice a week so I was able to look at this offering from an experienced Riders point of view. The team lead, Don, started out by giving us a 10 minute tutorial on how to effectively ride a horse. His discussion was outstanding and I have never seen a better tutorial in any horseback trail ride I've ever taken. Mendez Ranch then broke up the people into Advanced riders, intermediate Riders and beginners. They had three Trail people going out each dedicated to one of the groups. Don led the advanced Rider group, Daeja led the intermediate group and Jordan led the beginners. Midway through the the ride, we stopped to catch our breath, take pictures, drink water and Jordan then gave us the history of ranching in Hawaii. It was very well done. The scenery is outstanding! I signed us up trying to have us ride along the coastline and yes indeed that is what you get. You don't actually go down to the sand in the water because that's impossible, the ranch is on a cliff overlooking the sea but you get nowhere near a cliff. The ride does take you down some steep areas and then back up again but the team matches the horses with the Rider's experience level. There were 14 riders in our group with four in the advanced group and all the rest in intermediate and beginner. They were very friendly from the very beginning of the experience to the end. The manager Teri signed us up initially and she was involved through the entire thing. My husband is not an experienced rider and they made him feel very comfortable mounting and dismounting. They also matched him with a horse that suited his riding level. I highly recommend this wonderful experience for anyone of any level who wants to ride a horse in Maui.

Wonderful experience - We had a great time , my granddaughters loved the experience and they were the youngest on the ride. The guides were all wonderful and made our experience a wonderful memory. We'd do it again and highly recommend Thank you

Must do in Maui! - I had no horseback riding experience, but that was not an issue at all. The guides were so kind and helpful. Additionally, the horses are extremely well trained and well behaved. I would absolutely do this excursion again and I would recommend it to everybody that I know.

Best Guides, Views, and Horses… Um, What Else would You Need?!? - Jackie, one of the guides, was so special to us. My daughter and I were here for a special trip before she heads off to college. I love how Jackie took the time to get to know us and connect with us. I am SO glad my daughter and I invested in this experience. We will never forget Jackie or our horses, Ken and Mikey-the most handsome fellows you could ever check out the beauty of the Maui coastline with.

The WOW Factor for horseback riding! - Amazing Ranch! Don and the crew were so professional and friendly. Views were breathtaking! Would definitely go back and ride with them. Very safe and awesome experience! Highly recommended!

Amazing experience - My finance and friend had an excellent experience. Don and the other wranglers were so helpful and shows amazing tips on how to command the horses. It was pleasure riding the two mustangs Reno and Roman and my finance riding aloha.

Spectacular - This was an amazing experience! The views are spectacular! Like something you see in movies. The wranglers were fantastic. They kept everyone safe and the horses moving. We did the afternoon (12:30pm) slot and it was hot but the breeze made it feel perfect. We stayed in the Kaanapali area so drove north east around the top of that part of the island. The views on the drive are out of this world but I DO NOT recommend driving it. It was the most terrifying drive. It was 100 times worse than Road to Hana.

Went riding in Heaven! - This was a truly wonderful experience! I drove to Heaven to ride an amazing horse. Thank you Jordan for sharing your magnificent steed with me!! The staff at Circle M were all incredibly hospitable and made for a perfect day! The views were spectacular, the facility was clean and inviting, and the horses are nicely cared for!! While I’m an advanced rider, they have a horse for every age and level of rider, and I would highly recommend going for a ride with this team! Thank you again to Jordan, Jon, and Dan!!

Sadly disappointed - I hate leaving anything but stellar reviews but this tour left me and my family disappointed. Pros: steady horses; we never felt anything but safe. Lovely views. Informative information about the history of the ranch and cowboys on Maui. Very friendly welcome and intros. Cons: the ride was basically a slow loop that went downhill for ages, we took photos, and then went uphill. There wasn’t a “Canter across rolling green pastures” per the description in the listing. The wrangler assigned to the back with me and my daughters gave advice but he was gruff with it and he left my daughter close to tears. If my kid is having a bad time, it makes it an unhappy experience for me too. (Conversely my husband reported the wrangler by him was awesome so it depends who you get!); I felt berated for being a beginner even though I very clearly said I was and lined up accordingly. I sadly and reluctantly wouldn’t recommend this ride.
