Great Luau - The service was great. The food was great. The show was great and our service was top notch. The VIP tables were sold out so we had a classic experience. But that just meant we shared our table with another group. But the views were still great. I love the table service instead of long buffet lines. I brought my older parents and it was quite a hike for them down to the luau which was near the beach. Recommendations: Arrive at least 20 minutes early if you’ll need assistance to the luau. Also if you’re not familiar with the area Andaz (sp) hotel can be easy to miss when driving. Be sure to put the Andaz hotel in the GPS because the address given sent us the wrong way and we got turned around. Also if you’re staying near Lahaina/Kapalua it’s about a one hour drive. But well worth it, just leave in time to get there 15-20 min early.

Experience worth the price! - If you're looking to experience a luau while you are visiting Maui, we highly recommend the Feast at Mokapu. It's held at the Andaz Maui at Wailea hotel, which is a very busy but cool hotel to see, and the experience is steps from the beach and overlooking the water. We purchased premium seats, which were individual tables in the front row; completely worth it for couples who are there on a honeymoon or celebrating an anniversary (like we were). A professional photographer took pictures of couples and families for free, which was a nice touch. There was an open bar and entertainment from the moment you arrive. We felt that the staff did a great job making us feel welcome and involved in the experience. The dinner was truthfully just okay (dry), although the appetizers were good, but there is plenty of food offered. Watching the sunset, while you're having dinner and experiencing the show, is a 10 out of 10. Plus, the entertainers were amazing!

Not worth the money - It’s a good option given the available choices but WAY overpriced for what it is. The venue is beautiful. The entertainment is average. The food is pretty bad. There is an open bar which might increase the value for heavy drinkers but for us it was massively overpriced all things considered. But it was more intimate and well run than most other options.

Exceptional experience, dinner was good, show was better, setting was A+ - What a gorgeous setting - the photos you'll walk away from with the Hulu dancers and musicians framed between swaying palm trees, an unreal sunset and the whoosh of approach waves hitting the shoreline all set under a mesmerizing live performance of classic Hawaiian folk tunes - its all right there. That alone is worth the experience. The service is good and attentive and the unlimited bar is just icing on the cake. The food is very good although when I inquired about the experience and again when I registered with my hotel concierge, I was very specific that I had dietary restrictions (I'm pescatarian) and if I could be accommodated as most of the luau's are so focused on pig and beef and chicken. I was told my restrictions would not be an issue and then here comes the bento boxes which were pre portioned with each course (for style and efficiency) however that meant all the items mixed on one plate. The server wasn't very interested in helping me out so I picked around the edges. For that reason, I would not return so I do hope they're reading this to get it right as you can't assume that everyone eats pig, beef and chicken - not very inclusive. The show and performance was perfect - not campy as some can get. Talented performers throughout a narrated experience - and again the setting just can't be outdone. Free validated valet is a nice plus as well. Pricing is on the higher side - I compare to a dinner and Broadway show which is around the same amount of time and its still priced well above that NYC experience so if that helps, not sure it makes sense.

Beautiful setting and dances - Beautiful setting and dances. The sun was super hot so bring a hat and sunglasses. The food was just okay. Service was good and they took pictures and gave us pretty shell necklaces.

Good luau but not good food - The hotel is beautiful and the background was fantastic. The food was awful unfortunately and the service was mediocre. The show was really great in particular the fire show.

Luau ruined by someone’s kids and Andaz didn’t care - My husband and I were staying at the Andaz, which I planned for months. I decided to book seats for the Luau on our last night in Maui. We were so excited as this was our first luau and our first trip to Hawaii! The evening started great. We got there a little early, checked in, were served welcome drinks, and shown to our table. We checked out the activities- tattoos, photos (free digital download- love!). As it got closer to the start of the show, we sat down. We talked to a couple at our table on their honeymoon. We were having a great time. We noticed that there were 4 seats still open at the table. Right as the show started, four kids (had to be 11 or under) sat down. Their parents all sat at a table nearby and had a nice time while we listened to their loud kids throughout the show. There was almost no parental supervision. They talked and laughed loudly, complained about the food. During part of the show, they stood in the back dancing and mimicking the hula dancers. They are laughing loudly again. My husband did politely point out to 2 separate employees that the kids were being disruptive but nothing was done. Our server didn’t pay much attention to our table, probably because of the kids. The worst part was after this ordeal. My husband wrote a review on here about his experience. Within a few hours, someone from Andaz responded to his review publicly and asked him to send an email. I sent the email on Friday. It is now Wednesday and I have not heard a peep. So that tells me that their public response was all for show, they actually don’t care about our terrible experience. This is not the way I wanted to end my stay in Maui and definitely not extending the Aloha spirit.

Average food, hard to understand the performers, very commercial. Overpriced. - We did this luau as part of our honeymoon, and we both wish we'd spent the money in another way. For the price, the setup and food felt cheap and mediocre. It had been advertised as the most luxurious luau on Maui, but we did not get that vibe at all. The overall vibe and performance was kind of commercial and cheesy. We had a hard time understanding the performers/emcee and the most interesting/exciting performance was the quick fire dance at the very end. The setting is beautiful, overlooking the sunset right by the water, but I'd save your money and get dinner overlooking the luau at Morimoto in the Andaz instead - we wished we'd done this. Would pass on this luau.

Beware of unattended children and careless staff. - It’s our first time in Hawaii and our first time staying at Andaz in Hawaii. We honestly had nothing but great experiences at Andaz which is why I’m posting this review in a separate review from the hotel. This whole dinner experience is about 300 hundred per person so about 600 for couple. I’m not exactly sure because my wife booked it. Anyways. We arrived and we were greeted with some drinks and some lays made of shells. We sat across newly weds and four seat next to us stayed empty until the show started. We did some print work, took a couple of professional pictures and got some temporary tattoos right before the show started. We watched the sunset and the darkening backdrop served as a beautiful almost movie like scene that complimented the performances I got a couple of drinks for me and my wife and we sat down for the show. Everything at this point was going excellent and I thought we had made a great choice for dinner. This beautiful lady with an excellent voice welcomed us and started a story. At this point is when everything went downhill. Those empty 4 seats were filled up with 4 kids in their teens and maybe younger. They had been running around all up until the show started so that’s why the seats were empty. 3 couples sat across our table in their own table with no children. They had decided to pawntheir spawn on our table. No supervision and no one keeping them quiet or keeping them in control. These 4 kids ran around the bar and across the lawn in what it appeared to be their own show where they mimicked the performance across the lawn. all while screaming, chasing each other and being loud. These kids would take turns between mimicking the performers and running to our table to snack on food. All while being extremely rude and loud. I was trying to pay attention to the story and the performance but at times I couldn’t hear the person with the microphone because these children were screaming and being loud. I’m guessing this was worse for those in the back closer to the bar. I tried to tell a waiter to please do something about the disturbance and noise and he responded with “what you want me to do?” I don’t know maybe get their parents to control their children and if they can’t or won’t maybe ask them to leave? Obviously that waiter wasn’t going to do much. So I asked our waiter or the guy that appeared to be in charge of our table and again he was no help at all. If anything at this point the guy in charge of our table was plain ignoring our table since half of the table were kids who weren’t going to tip so I’m guessing he found something else to do. I was never asked for a drink refill or I needed anything. The food was ok. The fish and the pork were my favorites but as you can see it was not much more than a sad bento box. On the other hand other tables were getting drinks and even more food. This event was advertised as unlimited drinks and food but when you have no one to attend you or care about your experience it’s all just a big gimmick. I just want to make it clear. I don’t have a problem with parents taking their kids out to dinner. There was plenty of other children there sitting WITH their parents. They even had high seats for toddlers. However, my whole problem is that these 3 or 4 couples enjoyed a beautiful dinner while they pawned their loud children on our table and let them run ammock ruining the experience of many other people not just us. My issue is also that the staff was less helpful than the staff at your local chillies. I worked in restaurants like Olive Garden and Carrabbas when I was in high school and college and I can tell you this much. This kind of nonsense wouldn’t fly in a 20 dollar dinner.. why was it ok at this kind of dinner? I ended up going to our room sober, hungry and P off. I probably would have gotten a better experience ordering room service and watching the show from our ocean view room. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Not worth it - The food came out cold, and tasted terrible. The service and show was just ok. The one positive was a beautiful location. For the price I was expecting a lot more. I would not advise doing this luau.
