Friendly wave house with a relaxed environment! - Very inviting establishment. Everyone who worked there had a smile and their face and very friendly. Instructor”Oha” was wonderful with our son (13 years old). He was very patient and encouraging! We will definitely return!

Epic surf lesson in Kihei - Maui waveriders was EPIC! My 13 year old son had an amazing experience riding the waves with Derek who was a fantastic instructor! This adventure was a highlight on our trip! Thanks to Andrew as well who hooked us up!

Fantastic from beginning to end! - My 16 year old had a private lesson with Noah, and she loved it! He told her what she needed to do, gave great tips, and kept challenging her by having her go further out in the water, which allowed her to have longer runs. My husband and I were very pleased with Maui Wave Riders; I would definitely recommend them. The 2 hour private lesson was very reasonable. Everyone that worked there was friendly, and everything felt organized from beginning to end. We walked out of there feeling good about our experience, and my daughter walked out of there feeling confident with her new skill!

Super fun, but rocky and crowded - I took my three children (14, 14, and 11) with me to take surf lessons. We had a very fun time! Our instructor was very patient and encouraging. We all were successful in getting up several times. Two things to be aware of... first, it is very rocky, which I guess gives better waves, but one of my daughters banged her leg on a rock and cut it open so for the rest of the lesson she had blood running down her leg. My other daughter also had bumps and bruises from the rocks. Nothing that we couldn't manage, but as people who live about as far away from an ocean as possible, we were not aware that the "beach" would be like this. Second is that it is very crowded. Several times we had to wait for others to get out of our way or we would have to try to avoid them as we were trying to surf. This didn't generally take away from our experience, but just something to consider.

Great lesson - They gave us all the gears needed. The instructor was great and attentive. My 11-year-old daughter who was trying surfing for the first time, learned enough to go on her own next time. We hope to go again on our own, just rent a surf board and practice more.

Super surf lessons - The surf lessons were great in Kihei. I chose the earliest date that is always recommended by the local people. My surfer instructor Ina explained a few things to me at the beginning and then showed me how to stand on the surfboard and line up using dry exercises. After a few repetitions we went into the water. In the water, a lot of support was offered at first, so that you could surf the first waves directly while standing to get a feeling. Later, less and less assistance was given, that one was basically just waiting for the city signals and then it started. It was super fun and at the end you could already see your own little progress as you surfed some waves. Highly recommended!

Fun day on the waves - Our grandson had a great time learning to surf with Noah. He got up and began surfing right away. He loved the waves. Noah was great to work with. They have a wonderful photographer that takes great photos. .

Caught some waves! - Loved learning to surf here! Chaz was super thorough on the instructions before we got in the water. When we entered the ocean Chaz taught me how to evaluate the wave and I was up and riding on my second try. Highly recommend this place and Chaz! Pro tip: go earlier in the day for less crowds.

Family surf day - Very well done. Check in was efficient and instructive. Niji was a great instructor for my 15 year old and 12 year old. Good times and memories all around.

Great instructors and a fun time - My instructor Joe was amazing, he tailored the lesson to my skill level and athleticism which made it quick and painless to get out on the water. They have a large selection of boards so you’ll be comfortable on one no matter what. Overall a fantastic experience I highly recommend it.
