Super surf lessons - The surf lessons were great in Kihei. I chose the earliest date that is always recommended by the local people. My surfer instructor Ina explained a few things to me at the beginning and then showed me how to stand on the surfboard and line up using dry exercises. After a few repetitions we went into the water. In the water, a lot of support was offered at first, so that you could surf the first waves directly while standing to get a feeling. Later, less and less assistance was given, that one was basically just waiting for the city signals and then it started. It was super fun and at the end you could already see your own little progress as you surfed some waves. Highly recommended!

Fun day on the waves - Our grandson had a great time learning to surf with Noah. He got up and began surfing right away. He loved the waves. Noah was great to work with. They have a wonderful photographer that takes great photos. .

Caught some waves! - Loved learning to surf here! Chaz was super thorough on the instructions before we got in the water. When we entered the ocean Chaz taught me how to evaluate the wave and I was up and riding on my second try. Highly recommend this place and Chaz! Pro tip: go earlier in the day for less crowds.

Family surf day - Very well done. Check in was efficient and instructive. Niji was a great instructor for my 15 year old and 12 year old. Good times and memories all around.

Great instructors and a fun time - My instructor Joe was amazing, he tailored the lesson to my skill level and athleticism which made it quick and painless to get out on the water. They have a large selection of boards so you’ll be comfortable on one no matter what. Overall a fantastic experience I highly recommend it.

Skilled instructors, surfing in no time! - Our six year old loves surfing (we live in AZ) so we try to get in lots of wave time while in Maui. She went her first time when she was 4, and at 6 she's working on her skills standing up. Every time she's had a blast and the instructors are patient but firm, focus is on safety. Highly recommend them.

Amazing time surfing!! - Two years ago, a chance encounter at a surf shop lead to surfing lessons this week. The kids had an incredible first time surfing with Kazuma at Maui Wave Riders. He is an great instructor and has deep surfing experience which we got to see a few times. If you’re ever out in South Maui, check out Maui Wave Riders and ask for Kazuma!

First time surfer - now addicted! - My daughter had a private lesson with Dillon, and it was the BEST! She felt completely comfortable despite it being her first time out there, and now she cannot wait to go back! Everything about this experience was top notch, and the price was extremely reasonable. Thanks for giving us memories we will not forget!

YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! - My 10 year old grandson from Arizona has always wanted to learn to surf. I did my research ahead of our trip to Maui. I knew I wanted a private lesson. This was perfect. It was worth the trip from lahaina. Konan was wonderful. My grandson rode a lot of waves to shore. He had so much fun and is ready for more practice thanks to Konan. The surf lesson was smooth running from start to finish. They even had a hose to get every grain of sand off. We love this place. All staff were so friendly and helpful and they even took a lot of pics of the surfers for very cheap. This is the BEST PLACE if you are trying to read the reviews and get the best for your money. Would do it again if needed but Konan did such an excellent job we just need practice.

Great experience for surfing newbies - Great experience for those who want to try surfing. We had a dedicated instructor for myself, my spouse and our 6 year old. They provide everything you need and keep it simple and fun. Surfing does require some physical fitness and willingness to get a face full of saltwater. As you can see, they also provide a photographer so (for an extra fee) you can capture the moment. I removed one star only because our instructor was not vaccinated and did not wear a mask — but keep in mind that you are outdoors the whole time and its breezy — so the risk is questionable.
