Great audio tour, with hidden recommendations, great music and historical stories - I had heard many things about these audio tours so I wanted to order it for the road to Hana for my 9 and 11 year old. This was really a tour that was enjoyed but the whole family, which included stops of interest, great music and historical facts. We learned so much on the trip and even stopped at areas of interest that we wouldn't have known if we didn't get this audio tour (like the free lava tube at the side of the road, or the very first part of the tour where the whole beach was full of sunbathing turtles (we had thought they were rocks)). I liked that that tour followed you by GPS so you didn't have to worry about if you missed something or let you know what was coming up on the next stop if you were looking for something in particular (like a bathroom or a smoothie). It was great learning about the history of Hana and the royal clashes, something we would have not known just by driving through. We loved that we could also do the tour backwards on the way back out. We highly recommend this tour for your road to Hana!

Shaka Guide is excelent, just hop in your vehicle and start the tour. - Great tour and guides you, yes all the way!! Start as early as you can, to do as much as you can in a day or take it slow and stop to rest and stay a night some where, there’s much to see. You could go toward the end of the tour and come back and see all the stops. Take the advice from Shaka Guy and enjoy the most of this trip depending on where or when you start the tour. Make sure you first investigate every stop to see if you going to need a reservation for a park entrance or know in advance every stop to chose the ones got your attention.

Great easy to use Guide - This was a great way to see the island while hitting all of the best features and shipping those that are not as good. Also helped to know what to expect ahead of us. Very easy to use.

Skip the tour company! Do this instead! - Do this!!!! Don’t pay to go with a company!!! This saves you so much and is better. The guide syncs up with your location and guides you effortlessly through the drive and lets you know where things are and lets you decide if it’s worth stopping at.

MUST GET APP! - If you do the Road to Hana on your own, you MUST download this app. The turn-by-turn information is invaluable since it is sometimes hard to find the spots you are interested in. Also, the voice-over is excellent with great information about your surroundings. It's very easy to use too! I also love the return trip with the story of the Hawaiian islands and it's history, was like a book on tape and kept my interest throughout. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS APP!

A must have to drive the road to Hana! - Purchased the road to Hana classic. It was fantastic! We loved the narrator and enjoyed all the suggestions and stories. Since there is no internet - we relied on this tour to take us to the most important places! We are so happy we did all of them! A must have if you are driving this yourself!

Only way to do the Road to Hana - The Shaka guide is an informative and helpful way to self drive the Road to Hana. The stories, music and commentary are perfect for this long and winding journey. I highly recommend this as opposed to a van tour because you can customize your journey.

No need to smell strangers - We wanted to do the road to Hana, but in the comfort of our own car and to pick and choose what we wanted to see. My son finds typical tours boring, and I really don't like to be around strangers. Not to mention I get car sick very easily and I can only imagine being in some tour bus would have not been enjoyable. Shaka Guide to Maui was perfect for us!!! It gave us all the information that a cheesy tour guide would have given us and let us skip what we did not want to stop for. The narrator was genuinely funny and very informative! The stories very interesting that he told. My son was intrigues and so was I. The back ground Hawaiian music was very relaxing and great to listen to. The guide was right on point with my GPS so it knew how far a point of interest was and warned us of the more dangerous turns. The Shaka Guide is perfect for those that don't feel like socializing, those that have limited time, or those that just want to do a tour at their own pace! My only complaint was a couple of times when we paused it do explore, it started at the beginning when we returned. But that was such a minor issue.

Mediocre Experience - Even after downloading the tour, the voice would randomly start and stop through out the tour. Sometimes nothing for several highlight spots then it would just kick back in. Unfortunately, I'm sure we missed much on the road to Hana.
