- Blue Water Maui Charters - Aloha! Our small group whale watching tours are fun for all ages and a great opportunity to experience seeing the Humpback Whales for yourself! Check in at MALA BOAT RAMP 30 minutes prior to your departure time. It will be a barefoot cruise! Easy to remove footwear like flip flops are best. Due to a sandbar in the ramp area, we are having to utilize a shuttle boat to take you to the main boat offshore. See Photos! We appreciate your patience throughout our boarding process. After a quick safety briefing, we will head out to find the most active whales. Our Captains and Crew will share their knowledge of the whales and are happy to answer any questions you may have. We do our best to provide the most personalized and exciting tours possible, but it’s also important to realize that these amazing animals deserve a great amount of respect. We follow all regulations regarding distances, approach limits and make a big effort to avoid participating in any overcrowding of their space. Wear what’s comfortable, make sure you have space on your camera and that the battery is charged and come out ready to have a good time!

Additional Information
Our small group experience takes place in a big boat atmosphere! A maximum of 20 guests onboard allows our captain and crew the chance to focus on providing each guest with the very best experience. Our boat is really what sets us apart from other companies- we have a fast, fun and extremely comfortable boat where everyone has a cushioned seat, large open platform for viewing the whales and fast, quiet engines to help us maximize our time with the whales during your tour. Knowledgeable captains and crew who have worked among the whales for years will share whale facts and answer your questions. It’s a great photo opportunity and most people who do it come back for more!

Please check in a minimum of 30 minutes prior at MALA BOAT RAMP, in Lahaina. If you feel lost, CALL US at 808-495-1001. Limited parking near Mala, additional parking is located a short walk away by Longs Drugs and Safeway. Late check-ins are considered no-shows and no refund will be given.

Had an absolutely fabulous experience! - The crew was friendly and extremely knowledgable about whales and the area.
I had a bucket list experience as we were fortunate to have a whale breach just a short distance from our boat. So exciting!

GREAT for whale watching! - This was the coolest experience! Our team, Molly, Shannon and Levi, were so knowledgeable and made this a great trip. The boat they used was awesome because you could see whales from every angle - We didn’t miss a thing and had a blast!

Whales up close and personal - Crew was amazing and their knowledge was spot on. Allison and Paul were by far the best crew we travelled with. Patient and ! We highly recommend this company and specifically this crew!!!!

Amazing tour - Amazing tour and tour guides. Allison was great and gave tons of insightful information and our captain (I think it was paul) had us laughing and enjoying the tour. Right up front they said it was the end of the season for whales and they would do their best to see some. We seen quite a few and we followed them around taking it all in. Amazing experience.

Great tour!! - Great tour!! They were very knowledgeable and shared lots of great info. We saw several whales, include a mom and baby playing around for about 15 minutes. Even saw some bottlenose dolphins!

Wonderful Trip with Makai Adventures - Used Makai Adventures on my latest trip to Maui - first time using a new company after many years whale watching from Lahaina. Every part of the experience was great - friendly and responsive customer service, a great crew and a beautiful boat. Book directly with them if you can, and if you take repeat trips, you’ll get a discount. I had a wonderful time over three days and saw whales every trip and even got close to dolphins on the last day. Highly recommend this company!

Amazing close up views - It was incredible to get close enough to a whale to see a calf swimming next to its mother. She was teaching her baby how to breath at the surface.
