Tremendous views and fitting information - It was well-planned and orchestrated! We went by first to a point halfway up (about 5 or 6 thousand feet to overlook all of (viewable) Maui - so much interesting history! Steven, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable about history, flaura, geology and the general culture of the islands! For example, the core of the inward “hollowed out” portion of Haleakala could fit the whole of Manhattan and was so deep that “not a single building would rise above” where we were standing (at the top edge of Haleakala’s perimeter)! It was a magnificent and beautiful day, as was the rest of the tour - a great outside lunch and hike was had as we descended by van to Hosmer’s Grove Park, at 7000 feet, still inside the National Park.
