Highlights
  • Chamarel Waterfalls - Undoubtedly the tallest single-drop waterfall in Mauritius at about 100m high, the Chamarel Waterfall is a striking piece of nature standing amid dense vegetation. Travelers will have a front-row view of this wonder of nature and will be able to take pictures from two viewpoints.

They sit in an open clearing whose lower edge is skirted by an endemic plant garden highlighting the natural heritage of Mauritius.

Surprising - Located near Chamarel, an atypical place with magnificent colors in a green park, you can admire the turtles and waterfalls

Natural highlights worth seeing - Chamarel is a magical little mountain village with natural wonders that can be admired in this park, among other places. We were there around 9:30 a.m. and it was still very empty and pleasant. The seven-colored earths and the waterfall are absolutely worth seeing. The path there is informative. I really enjoyed the time.

a very interesting route from a geological point of view - very interesting route from a geological point of view in which the geological history of the island was explained at each stage. The Chamarel waterfalls, the Seven Colored Earth waterfalls and the turtle enclosure from the Seychelles are very beautiful.

Quick visit - We visited after heavy rain which I'm not sure if this made the colours not as vibrant but it was still interesting to look at. We also enjoyed seeing the waterfall

Nice place for a few hours visit - We dpent around 2 hours here, saw the waterfalls and the 7 colored earth. We also checked out the ziplines but decided to try them somewhere else, where they have more and longer. This is a nice geopark but if you have only a few days in Mauritius not a must see. The road up here is beautiful, and offers some amazing veiwpoints.

One of the beautiful memories of Mauritius - It was definitely worth it. Although we stayed in the north of the island, which meant a long drive, the combination of the 7 colors of earth, the waterfall, but also the Curious Charamel museum opposite is definitely worth it. It's affordable and special enough!

I honestly expected something more - Undoubtedly the seven-colored land is very particular, but in my opinion, the ticket price is quite expensive for what the site has to offer. In my opinion it is only worth a visit if you are already in the area. If you have to travel many kilometers to get there you can easily avoid it.

Bit of a joke! - What a sheer disappointment I came here 30 years ago and the site was huge - like a quarry. Extremely disappointed to do a 2 hour drive to what used to be basically a sand play pit. Absolutely joke! The poor tortoises could do with a new play pen - one looked half dead and was shocked to see such conditions at a tourist attraction. Management should take a look around and put some improvements in place. Wouldn’t recommend at all.
