Highlights
  • Trou aux Cerfs - Discover the southern part of Mauritius on a 7-hour private day tour. The adventure starts with a pick-up from any location in Mauritius. You’ll meet our driver/guide and set off for your first destination. The tour begins at Trou Aux Cerfs, a renowned natural attraction in Mauritius. This dormant volcanic crater stands about 605 meters above sea level, with a diameter of 350 meters and a depth of approximately 100 meters. Unlike typical volcanic landscapes, Trou aux Cerfs is encircled by a vast forest of indigenous plants and towering green pine trees. It is believed that Trou aux Cerfs erupted once and has been dormant for the past 700,000 years, though experts suggest it could become active again. One of the main highlights is the 360-degree view of Curepipe town and the stunning vistas of Rempart Mountain, Trois Mamelles, and the Port-Louis-Moka Mountain range.
  • Mare aux Vacoas - Next, visit the Mare Aux Vacoas reservoir, the largest on the island with a capacity of nearly 26 million cubic meters. This popular tourist stop in the south of the island is a hidden gem nestled among thick forests. It’s an ideal spot to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. The reservoir also offers a picturesque view worth capturing.
  • Grand Bassin - A short drive will take you to Grand Bassin, also known as Ganga Talao, a crater lake situated about 550 meters above sea level in the mountainous southwest of Mauritius. The lake’s shoreline features a temple and several small shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and other deities. Visitors are often awestruck by the towering 33-meter statue of Lord Shiva, the tallest statue in Mauritius. Ganga Talao attracts many visitors who come to pray, meditate, or simply enjoy the serene surroundings. The lake, approximately 18 meters deep, is home to a healthy population of fish and eels.
  • Alexandra Falls - The next stop is Alexandra Falls, where you can admire the cloud forest of Mt. Cocotte and the waterfall, along with views of the south coast. Hidden in the deep jungle of the Black River Gorges, Alexandra Falls is like a scene from a movie. The lush greenery, the sound of local birds, and the sight of falling water create a tranquil and unique experience. Don’t miss the chance to capture the panoramic view of the South Coast with its turquoise ocean. The surroundings of the waterfalls resemble a real jungle book, offering peace and tranquility.
  • Black River Gorges National Park - Next, head to Gorge Viewpoint for a stunning panoramic view of the endless green landscape. This unspoiled rainforest in the southwestern region of Mauritius spans nearly 17,000 acres of rolling hills, deep valleys, spectacular waterfalls, and diverse flora and fauna. The viewpoint offers a breathtaking view of the gorge and a nearby waterfall. The path to the viewpoint has a unique ambiance with souvenir stalls and the possibility of encountering friendly monkeys. The Black River Gorges Nature Reserve was established to preserve the island’s natural vegetation and is one of Mauritius’ most important sights. The park protects most of the island’s remaining rainforest and is home to many species of wildlife.
  • Bassin Blanc - The scenic route to Bassin Blanc in Mauritius is a breathtaking journey through lush forests. The road winds through dense vegetation, offering stunning views of the island’s natural beauty. A dramatic 180-degree bend provides an exhilarating experience for travelers. The dense forest canopy creates a sense of serenity, with glimpses of vibrant wildlife, including birds and small mammals.
  • La Vallee des Couleurs - Conclude your adventure with a final stop at La Vallee des Couleurs in Chamouny, where the 23 Colored Earth marvel awaits, along with various local activities. The reserve is home to diverse flora and fauna and offers a range of nature trips and fun activities. Nature lovers will appreciate the unique experience of exploring the park’s indigenous flora and fauna. Great comms and organised a refund for us - Not sure what to say as we hit Mauritius just as CV19 did and despite being told otherwise by our Captain, we were unable to dock twice We just managed to communicate with Ridwaan and he adjusted his plans so that if we were able to dock two days later than planned, he would be there to meet us, which was very much appreciated. Unfortunately, by this time, Mauritius had closed their borders to all ships. We let Ridwaan know and even though we did not ask, he organised a full refund for us. Therefore, should we be allowed to travel ever again and eventually get to Mauritius, we will definitely use his service. Great service although not the one we were expecting.
