Great tour of south Mauritius - Excellent tour. Our tour guide was super efficient and welcomed us ahead of disembarking from the ship. He was easily identified on the pier and the car was spotless. He was very informative and chatted in general about Mauritius life as well as important details about the sights. He let us do our own thing in our time at each of the stops and we had all the time we needed. The 7 colours park was not accessible due to road works (we were informed ahead of the trip) so we went to 23 colours instead. Entrance fee was included in the tour price but we decided to do the buggy ride at our own expense - well worth it. Lunch was a 3 course seafood meal at a lovely restaurant en route. Great intro to Mauritian food and the island.

Discover the south of the island - We were accompanied by Navin, a private driver who is very friendly. He was able to take us to the south of the island where we discovered beautiful views. He explained the local culture. The meal was made in a small local restaurant, it was very good. Thank you Navin for this excursion and for your kindness. The excursion was faithful to the description except the land of seven colors which could not be done because the road is under construction but our driver made us discover the valley of 23 colors which is very beautiful place.

A good day out - This is an efficient way to see most of the main sights on the island. The road to Black river gorges is closed so we substituted that stop with La Vallée des Couleurs, which was a lot of fun.

Miscommunicated Tour - We had booked and pre paid online for the picturesque South Tour of Mauritius, and we assumed the driver who picked us up from the hotel would have known this and taken us to the intended spots. However we did not visit Alexandra Falls, Gorges Viewpoint and Chamarel Geopark (7 coloured earth), due to a road closure. However we later released that alternative routes were available. This meant we had not seen half of the listed areas we had paid entry for. Upon pick up a bottle of water was not included, which was also listed as part of the tour. The lunch was decent and vegan/veg options were also available. We just felt that there was lack of communication between the tour operator and our driver, who wasn’t speaking good English so made it more confusing. We continued to try and enjoy our tour and make the most of the picturesque spots we were driven to, however we were a little let down that we did not get to see the main attractions such as the 7 coloured earth. We would highly recommend discussing with your driver before you set route, on all the areas your tour/entry has been paid for, so time is not wasted and they are clearly aware of this. As the tour company may not have mentioned anything to the driver other than whom to pick up and location.

Conditions are vital - The entire experience should have been cancelled due to the weather conditions, the guide was amazing but 90 % of the tour was unseeable due to the rainy conditions.
