Very enjoyable - The tour itself was really enjoyable with each section providing interesting insights into the culture. Unfortunately, our guide wasn't very supportive and would leave us at each location with very little context and just let us get on with it.

Great highlight driving tour of the South Island - We did a day tour of the island with Manu, our driver. He was excellent and allowed us the ability to accommodate what our needs were. He was friendly, knowledgeable and was an excellent driver also checking to make sure we were comfortable.

7 colour sands - We drove to the 7 colour sands and the water falls. Here we also saw the giant tortoises. On the return journey we took the coastal route and saw the lovely sea.

Fantastic excursion - We loved this trip all around. We booked as a couple and only had a private driver / guide in two. Already during the journey we were told a lot about the country, people and culture. At each of the stops we were either guided by our guide or handed over to the local operators. Each of the stops was a great experience with unique insights. The activity is highly recommended and was one of our Unpacked. The only criticism, at some of the stations (if you want) there may be additional costs for Things to do (e.g. Quad tour instead of walking tour in the park of 23 colored earth).

Nice day out but a little underwhelming - We booked this as we wanted to see.morw of Mauritius I'll start bu saying our guide, Agi, was prompt, polite and explained things as we went. He is also a very good driver! Outside of the control of the tour was some rain. I'd recommend taking a jumper too as the further up you go the colder it becomes. We jumped out at various points to see the statues od Shiva and the top of the Volcano, plus some reservoirs on the way to the national park We did some add on activities there, hired a buggy to go around. Be warned, this is very expensive at ~£110 per buggy for 2 persons. Would have liked to do the zip line but didn't have time as we were allowed an hour here (although we took 2).Agi was gracious on the time.lapse though. We then headed off for our 3 course lunch, this was tasty but not 3 courses despite pointing this out Overall a nice day out but think you'd be better off doing it yourself with a.local taxi at a lower cost

Great day out - Beautiful historical park with many interesting features and great views of the waterfalls. There are also other historical places of interest within the park to see and explore.

Great Day sightseeing - The views were amazing. Our guide and driver, Kevin was excellent 5 stars to him! He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and polite answering all of our queries and questions and sharing so much info on our drive between areas. He gave us lots of background about the culture and happily pointed out wildlife and nature on route. This was definitely worth the money and because it was a private tour, we could set the timings to suit ourselves. This would be 5 star but for the lunch-advertised as 3 course, it isn’t only 2 and no option available for vegetarian diet-only fish or chicken curry or grilled. Overall it didn’t detract from our day as we felt Kevin helped share a beautiful country with us.

A good day out - We were picked up by a private taxi who took us around for the day, starting at the posted time of the itinerary, initially a little bit awkward because it was a one on one situation but, as we are awkward people, that was to be expected. Our driver, Manu, was great, very nice, not too chatty and informative. First stop off was Trou Aux Cerfs, which would have been very easy to miss had we not been taken there specifically. Effectively, it just looks like a dip between 2 mountains filled with water with a small sign stating the name of the attraction. Next stop was to Grand Bassin and the Hindu statues. Very lovely spot, although currently surrounded by workmen and scaffoldings, which took away from the tranquillity of the surroundings. We were advised by our driver where to go and how long we had to look around, go inside the temple and watch the fish in the sacred lake. Alexandra falls was a bit of a let down to be honest, due to growing shrubs and tress around the area, you cant really see the waterfall itself. But the viewing desk, allowing you to see the full southern coast was lovely. There was also wild pigs and piglets which were nice. The tea experience was nice, around 40 minutes to taste a few tea options and look out over the plantations (and monkeys!) - due to the limited time, we didn't get to brew the tea for too long so missed out on the full flavour. The rum factory was great! the staff at the location were all very friendly and knowledgeable, advising on how the rum was made, what the bi-products are turned into. And of course, advising on what rum flavours to try and were more than happy to let you taste them all. The average price for a bottle of rum in the shop is 460 rupees /(approx. £6). The coloured earth was interesting, initially we were advised we would only have 1 hour at the location. When we went inside we were met by very professional staff who talked us through the options (quad bikes (which gives access to 1 more waterfall), zip lines etc) which all incurred an extra charge and advised solely walking the park would take 1.5 hours. After discussing we decided that we wouldn't spend further money on the attractions and see how far we could get walking. The paths were quite uneven but easy to follow as there were check point markers all the way around. The 2 water falls on the path were very pretty and peaceful to see. The coloured earth itself didn't live up to expectation though, it was slightly different colours but has to be edited on photos to get the effect. We were able to stop for 2 pee breaks, spend some time at the waterfalls, walk up to the apex of the park to get a view (that was blocked off by the zip line) and browse the gift shop all in 45 minutes. Lunch provided was absolutely lovely, very tasty food and had a good variety for all taste and dietary requirements. All in all, it is a trip worth doing as you get to see the biggest attractions of Mauritius, but if we aren't particularly religious, a good section of the trip does feel a bit awkward. Things to keep in mind: - a lot of the trip does now provide bathroom access, so drink lightly. - there isn't a lot of shade in the coloured earth park so bring sunscreen! - make sure you have trainers / comfortable shoes to walk in because they will be needed. - the day doesn't last as long as stated - we left at 08:30 and were back at the hotel by 15:00.
