Amazing day while in port. - We booked this excursion just before sailing from Long Beach. For some reason even though i booked the 1030am excursion we were scheduled for the 9am. All it took was a direct call to the zipline operator and the issue was resloved. The pick-up at the pier went smooth and since we were the only group we got a small taxi that stayed with us the entire day. Originally, I was only going along for the ride while my daughters ziplined, but I was given a great price to do an ATV tour. Upon arrival we were introduced to the staff by our driver and the girls were off with there guides, just the two of them. I then met my guide and it turned out I was the only one riding. So basically we all got private excursions. My daughters and guides eventually caught up to a smaller group on the ziplines but they said it was still great. They loved their guides, Carlos and Carlos, who they said were funny, friendly and professional. My ATV tour was just as good and Hector did a great job. To top it all off the included lunch is absolutely amazing! So so much food. It was really good and we felt bad not finishing it all. Our driver then returned us to the ship another 45 min drive but comfortable. Not sure if everyone will luck out and basically get private tours as that doesn't help the operator, but this is a must do when in Marzatlan. Great job!

Go in October to February - The good: The lunch was the best we have ever had on any excursion in any country. Legit, wonderful Mexican food. The people are kind and helpful. The location is in a small town, Veranos. Very cool to get off the beaten path. The bad: Hot. Hot. Hot. We went in June. I would not go again unless it was in October to February. All the plant life was dead and we baked. Rainy season is July. Then all the green comes to life and makes it much better. We came in two vans. One had no AC. An hour drive with no AC with 10 people in the van. Rough. Check in at the cruise terminal was chaotic. We pre-purchased with Viator. They sent specific instructions with pictures of a guy who is there “every day” and specific instructions on the color of shirt. Neither were true. We eventually asked around and got there. Because we were already pre-purchased, he kept neglecting us to take funds from cruise passengers that were paying in cash. Not a crazy big deal, but annoying in the scope of things. Overall, in the right time of year I think it would be a great excursion.

Great family adventure. - Ziplining was fun, and the meal provided afterward was delicious. There were 10 in our party ages 7-adult, everyone had a great time. A word of warning: they oil the zipline cables occasionally for maintenance, well, I guess they had oiled them recently because little flecks of oil got on our clothes and faces. It did not dampen our enjoyment, but wear older clothes in case you get oil flecks on them.

Pretty basic zip lining... - Pretty basic zip lining experience, with lunch and a tequila tasting. Not sure it was really worth the cost, but there was nothing wrong with the experience -- except the marijuana tequila I tried, which surprisingly got me VERY high hours after I had it. Would have loved a warning on that...

Well done. Fun. I was in the second group of the day. - Wanted to give 4 1/2 but system wouldn't let me. The first group was large. I was the only one in the second group, but road in with kayakers. Transport was a bit over an hour. Air con was on high, so bring a jacket if that's an issue. Also, if you are in the second group of the day, might want to be sure to eat well before you go, &/or bring snacks. Drinks are readily available. The main waiting area is at a restaurant and you can ask for something, but they want to feed the van groups as a group in general. Could have been a non issue, but as I was solo, the great zipline guys had me go on the 12 lines back to back. They were great and kept checking in on me. After line #9 I was dizzy with symptoms of hypoglycemia. Nothing too dreadful. I took a minute then finished the 12 lines, enjoying it all the way. Except for my break. I asked for a snack on my return, and they graciously complied. I had read reviews to wear athletic shoes..good tip! I was glad. There are funny stairs, rocks and trails between the lines. Zip lining was fun, but the getting to see the rural villages and people was also wonderful.

zipline fun: drive not - The ziplining experience was great. the 2+ hour drive to get there and back wasn't. The driver made like 10 stops to pickup various people before driving to the zipline along a very windey road. Taking a taxi there independently didn't appear to be an optikn. I was quite nauseous.

Go from October to February - Here's the deal: Go in October to February. We went in June and it was HOT HOT HOT. No shade, whatsoever. All the bushes and trees are brown and dead looking. The green up after the rainy season in July/August. The meal was absolutely the best meal we've ever had--bar none--on any excursion. Crew is very friendly and nice.

Nice tour but prepare to get greasy - It takes a little over an hour up some windy mountain road to get to the location. Be sure to take some motion sickness med if you’re sensitive. Guides were very nice and there were only 5 of us on the tour. I think there were 10 or 12 lines. I’ve done ziplining quite a few times at different places prior to this. One thing that’s different about this tour is you need to swing your legs and rock back and forth to slow down. No big deal and you get used to it. However the one thing I didn’t expect is how greasy the Zipline cable would be. The grease will splat on your face, your body, and clothes. Didn’t expect that and not sure why it needs to be so greasy. There should be a warning about that. You may want to wear dark clothes. Otherwise guides were great and lines were fun without being extreme.

Do NOT do this excursion! - The pictures shown of lush green and relaxing on the line is a false representation. This tour was long, hot, the landscape was dry and arid, super dirty. We left early because it wasn't safe. The lines were too fast and there was not padding on the trees that you could easily slam into. The guy on the end of the line had to basically catch you flying in. They gave you a meal which was nice. The tequila tasting was an experience too, all the bottles were dirty and tasted terrible. The bus ride to and from was hot and LONG almost 90 minutes each way. Very disappointed in this experience.
