Kruger National Park sunset/nocturnal - private safari

Kruger National Park - Take some time to unwind and enjoy lunch, then either take a dip in the pool or explore the scenic lodge and walking trail. We leave the lodge around 3:30 pm for a sunset/nocturnal safari in Kruger National Park. During winter, the sun sets early, giving you a longer night safari. In summer, you can enjoy stunning sunsets while on safari. We return to the lodge around 8:00 pm for a delightful dinner and a restful night, gearing up for your full-day safari in Kruger National Park.

Kruger National Park - private safari

Kruger National Park - All safaris begin before sunrise, the prime time of the day, filled with anticipation. After a brief drive, we enter the park gates. Your guide will know the best spots to find wildlife, including the Big 5 and plains game. This is the optimal time to spot predators.
The lodge will provide breakfast packs, and your guide will stop after about 3 hours for breakfast, a bathroom break, and a chance to grab a coffee. We then continue with your safari. Kruger features various ecozones, each with its own range of wildlife. We visit rivers, watering holes, plains, and bushveld regions.
We stop for lunch at a rest camp, where this meal will be at your own expense. You have time for some curio shopping or to enjoy a cold beer! The guide will then proceed with the safari, heading back to the lodge. We return between 3:30 - 4:30 pm, giving you ample time to relax, swim, and enjoy a wonderful dinner.

Blyde River Canyon, Panorama Route - private tour

Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve - Today we visit God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Blyde River Canyon (the world’s 3rd largest canyon), Lisbon Waterfall, the 3 Rondawels, and the town of Graskop.
God’s Window offers a view from the escarpment with a 1,300 m drop below. On a clear day, you can see as far as Kruger and beyond. There is a fantastic short walk through a natural rainforest environment. Bourke’s Luck Potholes are a stunning natural formation created by water erosion over hundreds of years. The Bourke’s Luck Potholes feature round carvings and holes of various sizes formed in the confluence of the Truer River and Blyde River in the red sandstone. Your guides will brief you on the region’s history. You can use small footbridges to walk over the chasms, observing the water flowing through the cracks and holes. There are also several small but beautiful waterfalls in the area. We spend about 1 hour here. It’s a great walk of about 1 km in total.

Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve - At the northern end of the mighty Drakensberg Range, and standing sentry at one end of the Blyde River Canyon, is the most famous - and photographed - attraction in the region, the Three Rondavels. The harder rock layers on top eroded slower than the underlying softer layers of stone, resulting in rock formations that resemble African rondavels.

God’s Window - With magnificent views, canyons, rock formations, and waterfalls, God’s Window is truly an area of breathtaking scenic splendor. It is no wonder that Mpumalanga is known as Paradise Country.

Bourkes’ Luck Potholes - The Luck Potholes are incredible. The result of decades of swirling water where the Treur River meets the Blyde River, causing extensive water erosion over time. The result is amazing rock sculptures that will fascinate you for hours.

Mac Mac Falls - There are actually more waterfalls around Sabie than anywhere else in southern Africa. Regarded as the most stunning of the lot, Mac Mac has twin falls that plunge some 90m into a gorge below.

Graskop Gorge Lift Company - This glass viewing elevator travels 60m down the sheer cliffs of Graskop Gorge, with views of the Big Swing opposite, to an elevated forest boardwalk, which leads 500m to a 70m-high waterfall via suspension bridges and exhibits. At the top of the shaft, a lifestyle center with a restaurant, craft market, and shops perches on the precipice. The entry fee is included. The activity is at your own expense.

Graskop - The natural wonders of Graskop are probably the most photographed and painted scenes in the world. Situated in the magnificent Mpumalanga Province, Graskop is ideally located in the heart of the tourism region and is the gateway to the Panorama Route.

Graskop is a small town found on the edge of the Drakensberg escarpment and the ideal base from which to explore all the sightseeing venues in Mpumalanga including the Kruger National Park, Pilgrims Rest, Blyde River Canyon, and so much more. It’s a good lunch stop.

Kruger Walking Safari - flight to Cape Town

Kruger National Park - This active and interactive way to view games allows you to interact with nature in a way that game drives don’t. Examine and follow animal tracks, see creatures up close, and appreciate the amazing flora that covers the land. Being on foot lets you into a world so few get to see, hear, touch, and smell – your guide will help you meet Africa’s flora and fauna up close and personal.

After a short breakfast and coffee stop, we’ll continue with the safari, returning to the lodge around 11 am. Here you’ll say goodbye to your guide and freshen up before the journey back to Johannesburg.

On arrival, check in for your flight to Cape Town, where you will be met by either myself or my colleague and transferred to your hotel.

Historical Cape Town tour, Table Mountain & West Coast - private tour

Table Mountain National Park - This morning we ascend Table Mountain via cable car (optional, weather dependent), with views over the city, Table Bay, and Robben Island that are stupendous. Table Mountain is a New Seven Wonder of the world & UNESCO heritage site.
Thereafter, we explore Cape Town and visit its historical places, like the Dutch East Indian Garden, Castle of Good Hope, South African Museum, Malay quarter, District 6, and Greenmarket square.
Later in the afternoon, we drive up the West Coast where the views of Table Mountain (postcard), Robben Island, and Table Bay are stupendous.
Time for an aperitif whilst watching the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean.

Cape Town Central - Thereafter, we explore Cape Town and visit its historical places, like the Dutch East Indian Garden, Castle of Good Hope, South African Museum, Malay quarter, District 6, and Greenmarket square.

Bo-kaap - We will have an opportunity to discover Bo-kaap, a Cape Georgian community formerly known as the Cape Malay Quarter. Bo-Kaap’s endemic architectural structures, cobbled stoned streets, and brightly colored walls make for a great photo session, but it is also its 300-year-old history that leaves one with a lot to savor.

Big Bay Beach - The West Coast is a nature and water-sport enthusiast’s dream. From here at beach level, we have great views of Table Mountain (postcard), Robben Island, and Table Bay. The beaches are just exquisite.

Cape of Good Hope Route - private tour

Cape of Good Hope - This region is a UNESCO Heritage Site due to the exceptional floral diversity of the area. We follow the west coast via Clifton, stopping at Maiden’s Cove to enjoy a view of the Twelve Apostles and Camps Bay. Hout Bay is next, a charming little town, where we board a boat for a trip to Duiker Island, home to the world’s largest fur seal colony. From here, we drive along Chapman’s Peak Pass, taking in the breathtaking views. Next is the Cape of Good Hope NP, the most westerly point on the African continent where the cold Atlantic Ocean meets the warmer waters of the Indian Ocean. The early Portuguese mariners named this famous landmark the Cape of Storms. Have a walk up to the lighthouse. Our journey then takes us to False Bay, where we can have lunch. Kalk Bay is a fantastic coastal port, famous for its fish n chips. Off to Boyes Drive, which offers a great view of the surfers below, and if you like, chat with the shark spotter while he scours the bay looking out for the Great White.

Hout Bay Beach - Hout Bay is next, a charming little town, where we board a boat for a trip to Duiker Island, home to the world’s largest fur seal colony.

Cape Winelands, Whale Coast, Penguins & Cheetah Encounter - private tour

Cape Winelands District Municipality - A full-day private tour of the Cape winelands, Stellenbosch, and Whale Coast is a profound experience offering exceptional value. Visit the historical town of Stellenbosch and boutique wineries to taste the Cape’s finest. Thereafter, we follow the Southern Cape Coast along the spectacular Clarence Drive on our way to Betty’s Bay and Africa’s largest penguin colony. Next is the charming town of Hermanus, known to be the world’s best land-based whale-watching spot between the months of June to December.

Stellenbosch Wine Routes - We enjoy a wine and cheese tasting at Fairview wine estate.

Cape Whale Coast - We head along Clarence Drive, the world’s most beautiful coastal pass. Finally arriving in Hermanus, stretched along a narrow ribbon of land between towering mountains and a spectacular shoreline,

Sitting on the edge of Walker Bay, this small coastal town offers a bewitching array of experiences. Whales and Great White Sharks, the most diverse Floral Kingdom in the world, mountain walks and unspoiled beaches, secluded forests, crashing surf, lagoons, and a hidden valley so beautiful it’s named ‘Heaven and Earth. Public art and sculptures at Gearings Point complement the artistic offerings of the many galleries that form an art walk.

Harold Porter National Botanical Gardens - This lovely garden is situated in the center of the coastal fynbos where the flora is at its richest. It encompasses mountain slopes with wind-clipped heathlands, deep gorges with relict forests, flats and marshes with restios, sedges, and bulbs, as well as dunes adjacent to the beach with specialized salt-adapted plants. The Garden is renowned for its waterfalls and amber pools.

Boulders Beach Penguin Colony - Stoney Point Penguin Colony is the last refuge of our critically endangered African Penguin.

Cheetah Outreach - Somerset West - To ensure the survival of the free-ranging, Southern African Cheetah. Cheetah Outreach is an educational and conservation-based facility that partners with cheetah Ambassadors to offer a unique personal experience in order to raise awareness and to ensure the financial sustainability of the Cheetah Outreach conservation program.

There are about 1326 cheetahs in South Africa, of which approximately 500 free-ranging cheetahs live on unprotected farmlands in the northern part of the country. The facility promotes the work of the Cheetah Outreach Trust to conserve this viable population and engage both local and international visitors to connect and join in saving these elegant African predators.

The reserve is home to other endangered African wildlife which are visible to you.

Shark Cage Diving · Marine Dynamics - The ocean has no fences and Shark Team enjoys sightings of various shark species. These include the Great White Shark, Bronze Whaler Shark, Cow Sharks, Cape Fur seals, and Stingrays. We can never guarantee any specific sighting but we will however be 100% transparent with you. On booking, we will inform you as to what sightings we have had recently and what you can expect. Robben Island Museum - Robben Island, the unique symbol of “the triumph of the human spirit over adversity, suffering, and injustice” with a rich 500-year-old multi-layered history, is visited every year by thousands of people eager to understand and honor the important aspects of South Africa’s history that the Island represents.

The ferries depart from the Nelson Mandela Gateway at the V & A Waterfront. The tour takes 3.5 hours including the ferry trip to and from the Island (Depending on the boat used as they have different travel times).
