- d’Arenberg - The always popular d’Arenberg Cube is a frequent stop on our tours. We may just slide by for a quick photo opportunity, allowing you to discover family-run boutique wineries if you’d prefer. The itinerary is based on what our guests want from the day.

- Samuel’s Gorge - A local favorite, we often stop at Samuel’s Gorge for its iconic location and relaxed vibe. We may also visit Alpha Box & Dice, Coriole, Battle of Bosworth, or a range of other favorites.
Either way, we’ll have you safely back in the Adelaide city center by 5:30pm.

We only visit premium wineries so you get to try the best wines of the region. There is no set itinerary for the day so every tour is different and tailored to the group. This is premium small-group wine touring at it’s best! Our very small groups have a maximum of 6 guests and we regularly depart with less. We only visit premium wineries so you get to try the best wines of the region. There is no set itinerary for the day so every tour is different and tailored to the group. We know all the best wineries, you can trust your local guide to create the perfect day for you. Lunch is at one of the best restaurants in the region. You’ll enjoy a delicious restaurant lunch of freshly prepared local produce alongside a glass of local wine or beer.

Amazing day! Highly recommend - From the moment Tom picked us up in Adelaide we knew we would have an amazing day. Tom's extremely knowledgeable but isn't a nonstop talker. He quickly discovered what interested us most and provided great information. We toured 4 wineries and were treated to a fabulous lunch. We've done multiple wine tours in NZ and Australia on our trip and this was by far our favorite!

A Fantastic Wine Tour - I’ve done a few wine tours over the years, and this was one of the best. Our driver/guide Tom, did a terrific job of explaining the day’s itinerary, and provided commentary and answered our questions during the drive. My tour included stops at four wineries: Yangarra, Wirra Wirra, D’Arenberg (along with a visit to the cube and exceptional Salvadore Dali Exhibit) and Samuel’s Gorge. All of the hosts were excellent and explained their process and the nuances of each of their wines. A fantastic day! Thank you!

Small Batch Wine Tours - An excellent day in McLaren Vale at Yangarra Estate, Lino Ramble, Gemtree Wines and Samuel’s Gorge. All the wines were delicious and our guide, Chris, was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful!
Lunch at the McLaren Vale hotel was very enjoyable too. We were glad we didn’t have to drive! Thanks to everyone!

Great wine-y day out - Matt is an excellent tour guide and has great knowledge of Adelaide and the surrounding wine regions. He listened to us and tailored an itinerary which was super fun. We got to try lots of delicious wines at a number of lovely cellar doors.

Excellent tour of the McLaren Vale region - JJ, our driver, was very knowledgeable, friendly and willing to make sure our day was tailored to our wishes. It was a fantastic full day visiting 4 vey good wineries with time to enjoy a fabulous lunch at The Salopian Inn. We certainly recommend this tour.

Stellar tour! - My husband and I had a wonderful day being guided by Matthew around McLaren Vale. He took the time to get to know us and from there he really personalised the tour to suit our style. This tour was part of our honeymoon trip and we were treated to some of the most delicious and refined wineries and restaurants on offer. We were even gifted some beautiful wine glasses to remember this special trip. As first time visitors to South Australia, Matthew’s exceptional knowledge made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. We were able to take our time and really enjoy every moment. The extra surprise of a drop off at ‘Big Easy Radio’ at the end of the tour for cocktails and live music was yet another highlight from a stellar tour. Thanks Matthew!

Great tour of the McLaren vale with small group - We did the McLaren vale tour with Matthew from Small Batch Wine Tours. Matt's choices of wineries were great, they covered the spectrum of well known, to leading edge to eclectic. The lunch at Salopian was amazing as well. We visited Yangarra, S.C. Pannell, Hugh Hamilton and Samuel's Gorge. All very different and all with amazing wines to taste. The views from Hugh Hamilton are amazing.
Matthew was a great guide with lots of information on McLaren vale and the wineries themselves.
The group size is small which is really nice for a day of touring.

Small Batch Wine Tours with Matthew is the way to experience SA wine country - We did both the Barossa and McLaren tours on consecutive days. Matthew proved to be an excptional guide, expertly managing and exceeding the expectations of each guest, accomodationg both the wine neophyte as well as the experienced vinophile. His local knowledge of all of South Australia's wine regions is extensive and his sincere relationships with the vineyard and tasting room operators, as well as local restaurateurs is evidence of his commitment to his craft, his love of all things wine, and his natural, personable style. You will be well taken care of; the van is luxurious and equiped to handle any bottle purchases you may make during the day, and he is most helpful if you opt to ship your bottles home. You can expect to have a fantastic experience in SA wine country if you book with Matthew and Small Batch Tours!

Interesting wines, great food, good times - What a great day. Matt gave us a great tour of McLaren Vale with a number of different wineries (4 in the day) and a fantastic lunch at the Salopian Inn. Just 3 of us on the tour (we knew each other) so it was effectively a private outing. He adjusted the winery choices on the fly as he learned our interests, indulged my interest in design with a stop at the d'Arenberg Cube (much busier than the smaller properties), and was helpful throughout. He kept our wine purchases sorted (and cooled) in the boot of the van and gave us full door-to-door service. I'm not generally a guided-tour kind of guy but this was a perfect way to see a great wine region.
