Our favorite tour In Medellín! - Wonderful tour! Very well thought out to provide both a hands on education on coffee production but also some insights into a neighborhood in Medellin going through social transformation. Our guide David was outstanding!

An Authentic Coffee Culture Experience in Medellin - This was one of the most memorable tours I have taken! Of course we were provided an expansive view of Medellín riding the cable cars up to the Communa 8 area but our tour guide himself and the overall experience itself left me with a feeling of being immersed in Colombian culture and people. David was just the best tour guide!! So informative, so real, and connected with us and connected us with the coffee and Colombian culture! Thank you David!!!

Our tour guide Valentina... - Our tour guide Valentina is a very lovely and happy woman and she knows a lot over the city and about the tour. From the meeting point and back everything was well organized. Traveling with the cable car was very funny, listening to the coffee history and self picking and tasting was very good and unique. I definitely recommend this tour…!

This is a must experience tour if you are seeking some immersion into the local culture. - This is a must experience tour if you are seeking some immersion into the local culture. Our guide David was incredibly knowledgeable and very helpful along the way. Rosa is a spectacular host. Learning about the tragic history of the area and seeing how the community has transformed is inspiring. The coffee is excellent and getting to see it from seed to cup was also special. Go support Rosa, her family and the community! You won’t be disappointed!!

Excellent Coffee Tour - The pick up process was excellent with David as our guide. The tour was excellent and very comprehensive. We were taught how to pick coffee and we then picked coffee. Later we were shown the entire process of coffee making then we were served coffee from the same fields we picked the coffee and along with the coffee we were served fresh cinnamon rolls. All the people involved in the tour were very friendly and very knowledgeable.

Charming Coffee tour within reach - This Medellin Barrio Sierra coffee tour is a delightful and unique experience that combines adventure, culture, and community. The journey begins with a dynamic start—meeting downtown, riding a tram, enjoying breathtaking views on a cable car, and then an invigorating uphill walk with over 1,000 steps. The effort is part of the charm and adds to the sense of accomplishment when you arrive. The true heart of the experience is the warm hospitality of the hosts. Rosa, a delightful and inspiring woman, runs the coffee house with grace and passion. She creates a welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. David, the enthusiastic and larger-than-life translator and guide, adds energy and humor, making the tour both informative and enjoyable. The hands-on experience of picking coffee berries is unforgettable. You’ll spend about 10 minutes in the fields selecting the berries, which are then used to demonstrate the fascinating process of separating the pulp from the beans back at Rosa’s house. While the fields used aren’t part of the original coffee farm (located 50 minutes away), this setup is both convenient and community-driven, highlighting the importance of supporting local farmers. Having experienced three Viator coffee tours, I can confidently say this one stands out. It’s close to Medellín, incorporates the fun of trams and cable cars, and offers a perfect mix of activity, culture, and connection. Rosa and team produce Tinto Noir single origin coffee - beans or medium grind, roasted in a medium format. I picked up a whole bean bag. It’s tasty. So, is this tour right for you? If you’re physically fit, enjoy a bit of adventure, and want to support a local, woman-owned coffee community, this tour is an absolute gem. It’s a refreshing way to immerse yourself in the world of Colombian coffee and will leave you feeling inspired and connected—all in just a few hours.
