Highlights
  • Escaleras Electricas De La Comuna 13 - Comuna 13 was the most dangerous district in Medellin only 18 years ago.

And is also the place where the first outdoor non-touristy electrical escalators in the world were installed. They were inaugurated in December of 2011 with a cost of 3,5 million dollars and was built to save more than 350 stairs in a very steep hill.

Besides the escalators, Comuna 13 is also one of the biggest street art district in Latin America.

Half of the neighborhood displays meaningful graffitis and you get the chance to learn all their meanings in this incredible Graffiti Tour with us.

Throughout the walk in Comuna 13 we invite you to try the traditional snacks from Colombia, if you are a foodie you will love the food.

Empanadas, Butifarras, Carimañolas, Aborrajado and more, all of them delicious and authentic.

In our walk we visit the view point, the new pathway full of graffiti and the slide built to honor a tragedy occurred in Comuna 13.

There is a lot of history to be heard at this tour.

Incredible Graffiti, Cable Car & City Tour with Erika - We had an incredible Graffiti, Cable Car & City Tour with Erika. This was our second Medellin visit using Medellin Day Trips and having Erika as our guide. We arranged our travel days to make sure Erika was available for us. We were traveling with my 80+ year old mother and her best friend. We knew that Erika would be the perfect fit to make sure we all had an amazing tour. Erika was so kind and accommodating. She made sure we went at a slower pace and took plenty of breaks without missing out on any of the tour. Erika never disappoints. Whenever you take a tour with Erika it’s like you’re traveling with a friend. We have had tours in more than 40 countries. Erika is one of the very best guides we’ve encountered. We will always ask for Erika whenever we’re visiting Medellin.

She was super patient, let us take our time admiring the art or looking at local stores and she even took some amazing photos for all of us. 100/10 would take another tour with Erika! Perfect family-friendly tour! - Book this tour! We went on the Comuna 13 graffiti tour with our family of 4 (kids age 6 & 8). Daniel was an amazing tour guide! He was attentive and flexible in adjusting the tour to help keep the kids engaged. He taught us so much about the history of Comuna 13 and life in Colombia. The pickup at our hotel helped ensure everything went smoothly from start to finish. Daniel helped us negotiate while souvenir shopping as well. This tour was the highlight of our time in Medellin!

A MUST DO TOUR!!! What a memorable experience with Erika! - Wow! What a fantastic tour! Erika was so kind, thoughtful, patient (especially with my 9 year old son) and super knowledgeable. You can tell that she is not only passionate about Medellin today, but also about the history of the city and understanding the relevance of past culture, politics, economics, and social events that have shaped Medellin into what it is today. She truly is a person who thrives on learning and today we were the beneficiaries of that gift. The exotic fruits were delicious and eating them in a market with her explaining about each of them was a once in a lifetime experience. And the cable car ride was really fun. Lastly, the graffiti tour was beyond interesting as she could explain the murals and their historical and cultural relevance. And the food…well we ended up snacking throughout and everything was authentic and delicious! I cannot recommend this tour enough! Ask for Erika! And a huge thank you to Erika for everything today!

Highly recommend this tour! - This was a wonderful tour that really showed the vibe of Communa 13. The fruit tasting was also amazing…we got to try so many new fruits at a local market that we had never tried before. Our guide, Daniel, was super knowledgeable and has been doing this for many years. He was a pleasure to talk to and even introduced us to some of Communa 13’s graffiti artists as we were fortunate enough to bump into them while walking around! Would highly recommend this tour.

Medellin Through a Local's Eyes - Learned so much about the history and beauty of Medellin through a local's eyes and life. Erika was prompt, friendly, and super accommodating for my family. She reorganized the order of the tour and made some adjustments to ensure my kids were engaged the entire time! Comuna 13 has quite the story to tell and my kids were excited to be able to add to that story when they got to leave their own spray painted tag! Thanks for an amazing adventure!
