This comprehensive full-day excursion ventures east of Medellín, taking you to the charming and iconic towns of Antioquia: El Peñol and Guatape.
Embark on a 1.5-hour scenic drive accompanied by a knowledgeable guide until you reach El Peñol, where you’ll uncover the intriguing tale of a township submerged beneath the lake’s surface. Ascend nearly 700 steps to the summit of the El Peñol rock for breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes (note: admission not included).
Your journey culminates at Zócalo town or Guatapé, idyllic settings for an independent lunch (at your cost) and a leisurely stroll through the vibrant streets or along the tranquil lake.

Beautiful day exploring Guatape! - My partner and I had an awesome time with our guide, Fabio. He suggested that we start the day early to avoid crowds and traffic (it was a great suggestion).
Guatape is a gorgeous area! Views from the top of the rock are stellar, the surrounding terrain, lake, and village should not be missed!
Fabio is a very knowledgeable, witty guide from the Medellin area. He shared tons of information about the Medellin/Guatape area with us. 😁

Awesome tour with a fantastic guide - Medellin Taxi Service was very responsive on WhatsApp.
Our guide, Juan showed up right on time and our day was fantastic. Juan was simply awesome - great guide. Knew his stuff and was super patient with us.
Very professionally done tour - would recommend to anyone. Value for money overall.

Unexpected Guatape Tour - Juan was amazing in providing us the history go Guatape. We ate at a local restaurant and it was wonderful after climbing all of those steps. This tour was booked last minute and our travel agent was able to reserve Juan to be our tour guide. This is how much we enjoyed him and felt comfortable that we specifically asked for him.

Guatape Tour with Sergio - Sergio picked us up right in front of our apartment. Then we first took a boat trip on the reservoir. Then we climbed the stone. He showed us the beautiful place. It was a very great and beautiful tour.

A great really fun day out of the city - A full day of food tasting was really nice. Time to climb the rock was really appreciated. And the towns, the rock exceeded expectations. Guides Alex and Suzana were so informative, helpful and pleasant
