• Penol - The guide shares the captivating history of this location: Connected by a vast reservoir that supplies around 12% of Colombia’s energy, this impressive dam attracts thousands of tourists annually seeking adventure and enjoyment. The Nare River’s water was utilized to create the El Peñol-Guatapé reservoir.
• Piedra Del Penol - “The stone of Peñol”. This 220-meter-high monolith is situated between the municipalities of Guatapé and El Peñol, featuring 702 steps to the summit. You can choose to climb these steps, or if you prefer not to, you can stay with the group and the guide to explore local shops. (Approximately $12 for the ticket) It is advisable to bring cash.
• Plazoleta de los Zocalos - Four decades after the reservoir’s construction in this vibrant town in eastern Antioquia, residents strive to preserve the history that was taken from them.
• Guatape - The Calle del Recuerdo (AND THE UMBRELLAS) is recognized as an urban and architectural heritage of Guatapé. It is one of the oldest traditional streets. To reach this street, walk just 2 blocks from the main park, and you’ll know you’ve arrived when you see a water fountain surrounded by vividly colored houses.
• Guatape Dam - Enjoy a 30-minute speedboat tour with music to relax and unwind, as the guide shows you the significant properties around this stunning lake, including (Finca la Manuela Pablo Esc from the boat).
• Guatape - Return journey from Guatape to Medellin
• Guatape - You will have approximately 2 hours to independently explore the most renowned street in Guatapé, famous for its shops and colorful umbrellas. Feel free to shop if you wish, and we’ll reconvene with the guide in 1 hour.
