Not so good but didn’t turn out horrible! - The NOT so good: Our night started off a little rocky. Our guide was 20 minutes late from the pick up time established. We then had to go out gas before getting to out first salsa club which turned out to be relocated but out guide didn’t know where and the person he asked didn’t know either. We then went to another club where there was no parking. We looped the area a couple of times until we found parking. The club itself was fun. We had some shots of Aguardiente we danced a little and headed out to another club. The next club was full so we didn’t want to wait long in line (in was raining and there was no shelter to keep us from getting wet. From there our guide asked us if we wanted to end the night or try to find another place. We ended up going to a bar near our hotel which wasn’t so bad except we got there about an hour before they closed. The GOOD: Our guide was funny, talkative, considerate and very humble. Despite our rocky start and set backs he tried his hardest to make it the best time we could have. Long review short…. We understand that some of the setbacks like the reason he was late, the rain, the clubs (fun places tend to be packed on the weekends- we went on a Saturday night), etc. were not his fault. We managed to have some laughs and dance a little and get to know some of the popular hangouts. And my group and I appreciated his efforts in trying to turn the night around for us. This may come off as a bad review but for the purposes of maybe giving both the tour company and the person who’ll potentially book this tour I’m writing it for further consideration on how to make to try to work around these possible problems in the future. Perhaps instead of doing this tour on a Saturday when there’s any people out, do it on a weekday if available. Also, for the tour company, communicating if someone will be late or plans may change a little notice beforehand would be appreciated. Final thought: I would recommend looking into this tour. Reach out with any questions or concerns (i.e. what happens to our tour of it rains? Do have have front of the line for pass guaranteed? And so on. I hope this one bad day for the tour guide and company doesn’t discourage you from considering this fun activity on your visit to lovely Medellin.
