A wonderful day with Mario - I actually think the title should be: Enjoy a day of exploration of Medellin: walk the streets, taste the food, Escobar if you wish, customize it. Mario was simply fantastic. He picks us up, say, ok, Escobar, graffiti in Commune 13, etc. We told him, we did Commune 13 yesterday, without any hesitation, "ok, then we will go", and he described a tour that included Escobar but a new route in the city. We were with him from 9:00 am until about 5:00 pm, and every minute was wonderful. We really felt like we were seeing the city, in fact, we never saw any tourist until we made stops near a famous square that we were happy to visit. We posed with school children for photos (forgot to get a copy from Mario), we at a local restaurants where I can almost guarantee you they rarely, if at all saw American seniors, we chatted with the surviving driver of Escobar, etc. If you just want to feel like you really have seen the city, take a separate tour of Commune 13, the hire Mario to really spend the day showing you Medellin. Mario: the greatest, and his English skills are perfect.

Learn and enjoy Medellin with Julio - We had the pleasure of traveling with Julio for 2 tours; first to Guatape and then a city tour of Medellin including a tour of the markets and tasting fruits and then visiting Comuna 13. He is a very personable, patient man and is genuinely interested in his clients. He did our tour in English and we enjoyed his mastery of the language and his jokes. He is a great guy and I would highly recommend spending a day with him to learn about the area.

Great private Pablo Escobar tour! - My friend and I had a great time touring around Medellin for our private Pablo Escobar our with Julio. Julio was highly knowledgeable, friendly and all around pleasure to spend time with. We went to four locations on our half day tour: Pablo's Monoco House/mansion, Pablo's prison (La Catedral), the location where Pablo was killed, and Pablo's grave. Thanks for a great tour!

Excellent Pablo Escobar tour - Had an excellent tour with Julio, he takes his time and was very informative. Went to the top Escobar locations and the Barrio whereby Julio takes you to have the best coffee and cake, he also has a great sense of humour. Overall one of the best tours I have been on, would strongly recommend.

I am SO GLAD I booked this tour with Julio! A Great Experience!!!! - At first, I was only coming to Medellin for a work conference for about 48 hours. But last minute I added an extra day. After walking around on my own on day 1, I decided to do a little internet search for best tours of Medellin for day 2. And I found Medellin City Services. First of all, I am so grateful to Mr. Camilo Uribe for answering my email the night before I wanted to tour. I was worried I had waited too long. However, he responded quickly and we set up my private tour within minutes. I was not sure if I wanted to be stuck in a full day tour. What if I didn't enjoy the guide? What if this sites were not worth the full day. I was trusting with only other recommendations on Tripadvisor to guide me. However then I met Julio. What a terrific guide. Julio is a very fun, bright and knowledgeable fellow who instantly made me feel like I was spending the day with an old friend. He put me at ease with his terrific humor and interest in me and why I came to Medellin. He was exactly the kind of guide I was looking for. My tour was of Pablo Escobar's apartment building, prison (La Catedral), place of death and grave. I had some knowledge of Escobar from watching documentaries and the Netflix show Narcos. Julio added in more facts and details. He was able to have a great discussion with me about what it was like then versus now. He also introduced me to some folks who were around during the Cartel War years. Very interesting for an North American to hear first hand experiences. The tour of all locations was well worth it for those with an interest in the history of one of the most infamous men in all history, and definitely our lifetime. The real treat from Julio was that once we completed the Escobar tour, he took me around a few other neighborhoods to see some more of Medellin. The most interesting was the Comuna 13. This colorful history and barrio comes with a visit to an exceptional coffee shop for coffee and sandwich and then some mango cremes. These local treats are so unique to Colombia. A great experience. A fantastic day. I would definitely recommend Medellin City Services and ask for Julio. I certainly will the next time I am in town.
