Such a memorable experience! - The host was so sweet and welcoming! She told us the history and traditions of each type of mochi, and then we began making our own as she guided us along the way. The experience is one of our favorite memories of our time in Japan and we can’t wait to share the recipes with our loved ones back home!

A very sweet experience!! - I enjoyed hearing about the history of mochi and it's meaning in Japanese culture. It was also nice to have a conversation with someone who was local to Japan to get more of an understanding of the country since it was our first time ever visiting.

Fun, educational (and delicious) way to spend a hot afternoon in Tokyo. - What a fun (and delicious) experience! Not only did we make mochi, we got to eat it and we got to learn about various mochi and when they are served - I never knew there were do many! By the end of the course, we had a little package to take back and eat at the hotel (yummy), and got a QR to print out the recipes. After a hot, sweaty morning of touring, doing this 2 hour course in the afternoon, was so relaxing. Our instructor was very nice and knowledgeable. I would absolutely recommend this to my friends! Check out Simply Oishii Wgashi School for more courses. Under One day courses, they actually have a whole variety of short courses (1.5 hours and longer). Booking with Viator was easy but I find it easier to see what they have listed on their website. Instructions to get to the location were very helpful.

Lots of fun for a family - Really enjoyed this event. It was interesting learning about the traditions that involve different types of mochi. We all had fun making the mochi, but the best part was being able to taste both sweet and savory mochi. Would definitely recommend for a family.

Enjoyable, informative, and tasty - Miyuki was great teacher and we had a great time learning to make various mochi. She teaches in a way that you can easily do it in your own kitchen without the need to buy a bunch of equipment. We learnt to make daifuku mochi, three colour dango, and warabi mochi.
