Meknes - Starting In Rabat, you’ll be up for an early breakfast before beginning your trip to the Imperial City of Meknes. The city was founded at the end of the 17th century and was once Morocco’s capital during the reign of Sultan Moulay Ismail; much of the town is under renovation, including the Bab El Mansour gate, which is under scaffolding, and the old Medina. So it will be a brief driving tour to get a sense of this otherwise lovely town.
