Den’s expert knowledge was interesting and engaging for all ages - Den was our guide for the walk through the gardens. He was superb. He communicated his extensive knowledge of the uses of lots of the native plants really well and kept our children engaged, involved and interested the entire way. He clearly has lots of experience working with kids of all ages, as he sensitively judged which of our children would want to be involved in different conversations and activities. His sense of humour was outstanding and we loved listening to him read his poems at the end of the walk. His tour definitely added value to the experience of walking around a beautiful range of habitats.

Uncle Den Fisher’s Tour of the Gardens - Uncle Den Fisher lead us on a beautiful tour of the garden. Myself and a couple of other solo travellers joined a workplace group. Uncle Den generously shared his insights, sense of humour and warmth and left space for us to contribute our thoughts and reflections on the garden too. I was struck by how connected I felt to the group despite having only just met them. It seems like the kind of tour you could repeat for each of the seasons as the garden changes so much and I’m sure the guide would have different things to share depending on what the garden was up to at the time. Winter was a great time to do it. The trees could really show off their branches without the leaves getting in the way and the atmosphere was peaceful and contemplative. Highly recommend this tour!

Insightful and Relaxing Educational Walk - Had a lovely walk through the Royal Botanic Gardens in the winter. The guide was extremely informative and made sure everyone had a great time. Learned a lot about all the different fauna in the Gardens and more about the Aboriginal culture and customs. I would greatly recommend this walk to everyone who chooses to visit Melbourne and especially those who visit the Gardens.
