Great park, worth it! - Super nice walk in a very well maintained and quiet location, with a variety of impressive flowers/trees!
Free entry ! Even though this park is out of the center of Melbourne, it is very easy to access and is worth the detour!

Botanical Beauty & Bus - Who new you could see the Royal Botanical Gardens by bus?
What a fabulous, fun and informative day we had .
Firstly we travelled on the bus whilst our driver and guide Dimity, gave an in depth narration of the species and history of the Gardens.
It was a very relaxing 30 -40ms.
Once finished, we then visited places of interest touched on whilst on the bus.
As the Gardens are so vast and directions can get confusing, l recommend this as a wonderful way to start off.

Introduction to expansive gardens - Wonderful introductory tour to the expansive collection and winding paths of the Royal Botanical Gardens. Thank you Mark for your interpretation. We’d love if the tour was longer!
Thank you Jo at the visitor center helping us check out an wheelchair.

Fabulous array of plants in a wonderful setting. - An excellent way to see all the main elements of the gardens and to familiarise yourself with it's layout. Takes 30 mins but we then walked the same route to see it in more detail and to take photo's. Fabulous views of the City skyline from the Volcano, cactus and rise gardens. Our guide, Elias, was personable and informative.

Exceptional, informative tour - I was fortunate to be the only one on the tour. My guide was wonderful. She had an excellent knowledge of the gardens collections, features and development over time. The gardens had such an interesting past and has interesting current projects which reflect our times. I loved that my guide could highlight these for me. She also took the time to answer my many questions about plants! It was a wonderful day!

Royal botanical gardens Victoria Melbourne - Where can you get a free entry other than in Melbourne to the beautiful botanical gardens Victoria
This is a great way to spend some quality time away from the hustle and bustle of downtown yet be right in the heart of Melbourne and be one with nature. There is lots to see and do from punting to eats and with programs running during the day we were truly spoilt even on a cloudy with drizzles day!! Worth it

Great way to see the gardens - A short 30 min guided tour; we found this to be a great way to get an all over view of the gardens. The guide was very informative telling us not only about the different plant species but also about the history of the gardens.
We took a picnic lunch with us to enjoy in the gardens afterwards. There are open grass areas and also a lot of bench seating around the gardens. There is a cafe near the visitors centre.

Beautful Flowers and Plants - My wife and I went on the tour of the gardens as part of a group tour of Australia. The garden has a gorgeous variety of plants and flowers. Since we were on a tram or bus, we covered a lot of ground in a short amount of time and got to see a lot. The tour guide/driver was very informative and we make several stops during the tour. However, the drawback was that I wasn't able to get all of the photos I would have been able to get on a self-guided walking tour. Sometimes I wasn't on the correct side of the tram/bus and other times I would have needed to get off to take the shot I wanted. But, a self-guided walking tour would not have provided the information we got from the tour guide/driver.
This tour was arranged by the group tour company and we were not given an option to do a walking tour. I do not know if the gardens provides something like headphones and an audio presentation for customers who want to do the walking tour. We did pass quite a few people walking through the gardens, but I did not see anyone wearing headphones and carrying an audio device.
