- The Nobbies Centre - The Nobbies allows visitors to zoom in on the largest colony of Australian fur seals that inhabit the rocks around the centre. This is a fantastic opportunity to observe the seals as they relax and play on the rocks and in the water.
In addition to seals, the area around the Nobbies Information Centre is teeming with colorful bird species. Many types nest and feed on the cliffs, so keep an eye out!
Inside the centre, modern screens show short presentations about the life and habitat of Phillip Island. Here, you can learn more about the seals and birds you observed earlier.
The observation deck (arguably the most popular part of the centre) provides the best view of the seal colony and also offers vistas extending to Flinders National Park, where you might catch a glimpse of Western Port Bay in the distance.
- Phillip Island Nature Parks - Penguin Parade - As the sun sets, we head to Summerland Beach and find a spot on the boardwalk. Watch hundreds of little penguins come ashore, making their way across the beach to their homes in the sand dunes. See the world’s smallest penguin in its natural habitat from viewing stands and boardwalks. Enjoy educational displays in the visitor centre and the stunning coastal scenery from the Penguin Parade.
