An Amazing Day! - Super fun day with Rick touring wineries in the Yarra valley. The wineries were very nice and the lunch spectacular! We were each given a free bottle of wine to bring home. Rick has a great sense of humor and also provides knowledgeable commentary. The pace of the tour is nice with plenty of time at each stop. The drive is quite beautiful and to top off the day we did a tasting at the chocolaterie!

What a super day - thank you Rick and team! - We had a fantastic day out with Rick for his tour of Yarra Valley. From the get-go he was full of great facts, jokes and fun about Melbourne and the surrounding area. We started off visiting a local farm to sample local fresh fruits, relishes and jams. I had to get a jar of the tomato and capsicum relish! We then followed this with not one but two fantastic wine tasting sessions with a delicious lunch to top it off. One of the wineries even had an art gallery with paintings from indigenous women and Rick also taught us on some of the symbolism in the art. Finally we got to visit a chocolate factory and got to taste twelve different chocolates! Each location was beautiful and we got to see kangaroos, alpacas and beautiful birds of the area. Rick was hilarious and a fantastic guide. Would massively recommend!

Solo wine tour experience - I had a fantastic time! It was a smaller group tour which allowed for great conversation with the other parties in the group and made it easier to stick to the schedule and move from stop to stop. Rick was our guide and he was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. Great activity to do if you’re visiting Melbourne with friends or solo!

It's good - It was, if we book, you have to share a valid operator phone number, also share the traveler number. It is difficult to get the bus details at the picking point.

Average/rushed wine tour with only 2 real tastings (but a great lunch) - We booked Rick’s wine tour having read great reviews and seen the website so had very high hopes but we were left a bit disappointed. Overall the experience was rushed in parts. The day starts with a fruit tasting but that consisted of a single strawberry, slice of pear, slice of apple and a taster of a jam/chutney - very meagre portions and didn’t feel like a meaningful stop. Apparently the fruit taster is to cleanse the palate… We then went to Hubert Estate (which is lovely) for two tastings. The first was good, a proper sat down tasting with helpful explanations from the staff, and the opportunity to take a bottle home. However the second of the tastings wasn’t really a tasting - it was in a smaller side room with everyone stood up and the host pouring random splashes of different drinks with no real explanation of what was being poured and a rushed experiencr. However there is an aboriginal art gallery which we would have enjoyed the chance to explore. We then went to Rochford where we had another tasting but again this was quite rushed (maybe 25 minutes in total). That was then followed by lunch which was delicious and the highlight of the day. We were surprised that we were then done with the wine tasting section before we’d had lunch…there is an optional gin tasting after lunch but we did not do this (at an extra cost). The final stop was a chocolate tasting - again quite rushed, being cantered through 10 chocs in as many minutes but the explanation/detail from the host was interesting if chocolate is your thing. However the chocolate for sale is quite expensive if you’re looking for gifts. Our tour guide gave us some mostly interesting commentary on the drive out (if peppered with a few groan inducing dad jokes) but overall we felt a bit rushed/like we were on a school trip. Overall we were a bit disappointed that there were only 2 proper wine tastings and one of which was quite rushed. We wouldn’t have minded so much if each of the stops had been more meaningful rather than being rushed. We would not book again on the basis that other tours seem to offer 3/4 wine tastings at 3/4 different estates.
