An experience not to be missed! - Our trip to Tikal with Reyes was a highlight in a very memorable vacation. We went there interested in the site but not really knowing much about Mayan culture or history. We left with an understanding not just of the social significance of its construction, but also its place in the greater Mayan civilization
A driver picked us up at our hotel in Belize and we met Reyes in San Ignacio and then on to the Guatemalan border. Reyes made sure that everything was effortless and fun the entire trip to Tikal. He gave us information about modern day Guatemala from the civil war to present day, and a little geography lesson, which was helpful for context. After a short stop where we made and ate some tayuyo at a roadside stand, Reyes gave us background on the Mayan number system and glyphs.
I don’t think anything can prepare you for seeing Tikal for the first time. It’s spectacular and Reyes has clearly given some thought to how to approach the site and get the most out of the time you have there. He also took some great photos of us!
I can’t recommend a tour with Reyes enough. You will be left thinking about what you learned and hungry for more.

AMAZING tour of Tikal by Reyes! - My family of three had an AMAZING tour of Tikal in Guatemala with Reyes! He was so knowledgeable about Mayan culture and history, the Mayan writing system, and the animals/trees/ plants in Guatemala and Belize. The way our tour was organized and presented was perfect for our learning and understanding. Reyes has such energy and passion for what he is teaching, it makes the tour so enjoyable! We will seek him out next time we're back!

Best Tikal tour in Belize! - Reyes was fantastic! We had an absolutely phenomenal time on our tour with him. He is so knowledgeable about Tikal and the entire Mayan civilization! He also taught us a ton about Mayan and Belizean history and culture!
The tour was very well run and organized. He met us right outside the Belize side of the border and helped us navigate the Guatemalan border (which was very easy!). He then picked us up on the Guatemala side. He took us to get some Tlacoyo (Guatemalan tortillas) from a local on the side of the highway for breakfast and then into Tikal! He also took so many fantastic photos of our group from the day which he shared with us at the end.
Would absolutely recommend Reyes to any friends/family looking to do a tour of Tikal!

Excellent Guide - went above and beyond - Reyes was an absolute Gem of a tour guide. Everything was streamlined, organized, and thought out. He was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Although we didn’t see ALL of Tikal, we saw a large portion of it and got the opportunity to explore it further as we pleased. Reyes went at our pace and ensured we had a great experience. We would 100% recommend him as a tour guide and book with him for other tours.

Tikal not to be missed. - The trip was so well organised from start to finish. If in San Ignacio we would recommend asking for collection from your hotel. The small extra amount made negotiating the border crossing so much easier and made for a more relaxed day.
Our guide at Tikal was Joshua who was so informative great fun and will act as cameraman at every opportunity. Highly recommended outfit.

Highly educational and well organized trip - Our guide Jorge De Leon and driver Reyes were experienced and educated with profound knowledge of Mayan culture history and folklore which expanded from past centuries to contemporary times. Discreet and polite Jorge helped us navigate Tikal National Park provided interesting historical facts, told us legends and showed us his deep knowledge on Mayan glyphs. In addition Jorge is part of a Mayan cultural heritage preservation community , actively participates in further development of Mayan language and lead educational campaigns among Mayan descendants.
Accurate and timely pick up from the hotel and friendly unforgettable experience.
Highly Highly recommended tour.

Fun, professional and knowledgeable tour of Tikal - Reyes was absolutely exceptional, we had an incredible trip to Tikal with him. Everything was extremely easy and well thought out; including border crossing, entrance into tikal and the route around the sites, it was all very professional and engaging. His knowledge of the sites, the history and the culture was great and answered all questions - you could see he had a passion for the area. Reyes provided a brilliant service including taking great photos, an introduction to Spanish language and a great little tour when dropping us back off at our accommodation. Really appreciate the effort and the friendly face. Would recommend and would do again. Thanks Reyes.

Not what we expected - Full disclosure, we book and took our tour in January after reading all the positive reviews with the expectation the Reyes (the owner) would be our guide. Unfortunately, when we arrived we were met by a guide who explained Reyes was unavailable and he was asked to fill in. We did not receive any advanced notice from Reyes or his company.
Although our guide was informative, we found him to be detached and disinterested. He lacked the passion and enthusiasm we were expecting. If you book this tour, do so with the understanding that should Reyes be busy/unavailable you might find yourself with an “average” replacement guide.
