Hallstatt is amazing - We absolutely loved our journey! Hallstatt’s breathtaking scenery, Salzburg’s rich cultural heritage, the enchanting village of Hallstatt, and the architectural splendor of Melk Abbey made for an unforgettable adventure. The tour guide were friendly and knowledgeable ,his driving was very comfortable,adding so much value to our experience.

No onboard restroom just a smoking and underpowered SUV and a driver - We were extremely surprised when we were greeted by a very young man who was supposed to be our guide and led to a small SUV. The vehicle DOES NOT HAVE an onboard bathroom as advertised SO THIS IS MISLEADING and is smelly of cigarette smoke when we specifically asked for non-smoking transportation. The guide was a very nice and young, but in our view was not experienced in giving tour guides and most of the trip we talked about things not related to the tour. We didn’t learn much beyond the facts that anyone can Google. We had a wonderful lunch by the lake and invited the young driver to join and eat with our family as it seemed this is a very new tour guide company without properly trained staff and transportation vehicles. The young man had to turn off the air conditioner to go through the Alps mountains several times during the trip. So in the end, what we got is really a nice young driver who drove us to and from Salzburg and we felt very terrible for the driver with the lack of support from the management and company. What advertised IS NOT TRUE and we paid lots of money for things that were not provided! The company should rectify the current issues.

Avoid this SCAM - Unfortunately, this was a long day of wasted time and money, overall we were very disappointed. I do NOT recommend.  The listing is completely inaccurate. WiFi and bathroom are listed--but not actually available. While we didn't actually expect a bathroom as that is only on large buses, we at least expected a van. Instead we (FOUR adults) were crammed into a car. Three adults in the back seat of a car is fine for a taxi drive, but for 7+ hours driving it is incredibly uncomfortable. Additionally, there was limited knowledge of where we could actually stop to use the bathroom, as bathroom breaks were not built into the schedule.  Melk Abbey--again, inaccurate listing. You don't actually visit, despite that being said in the listing. We were dropped off for 10 minutes in Melk, then had to ASK to be taken to the Abbey, which you can really only see in full from the highway. So, the few minutes were allotted at the Abbey were inconsequential--we saw nothing, and learned even less.  For the price and horrible vehicle, the Hallstat Skywalk should be included. Up and down is $22/person. The view is absolutely gorgeous and was the only good memory of this experience. During the drive there was no music, except for the hour between Hallstat and Salzburg. It felt like we were on punishment. The driver, Nico, seemed like a nice enough person but there was very minimal conversation so I don't actually know. The information given about the locations and stops seemed like abbreviated talking points taken from the top entries of a web search.  This is a private excursion, yet it felt we had no say in what we wanted. We were lead to specific gift shops and restaurants, and given silly explanations when we questioned the choices. While the restaurant in Hallstat had good food, it was pretty expensive. I feel awful that I selected this for our group, we truly felt scammed. I wish I could give this zero stars, but I guess the one star is for us making it back to Vienna in one piece. Especially as the entire journey he was speeding, and made several reckless actions (i.e. overtaking two cars and nearly sideswiping a bus that was reversing on a narrow road).  Lastly, one of the adults ended up with sciatic nerve pain from the cramped seating in the back seat for such a long period of time. Which impacted the rest of the trip.  Hallstat is breathtaking and Salzburg is just ok, but please rent a car or take the train, you will save a ton of money and disappointment. This is by far the worst excursion/experience that I've done in my 30+ years of traveling.
