Additional Information

Explore Memphis’ vibrant history, musical legacy, and Southern flavors on this all-encompassing “best of Memphis” tour. Experience the key attractions of downtown Memphis, from the Blues bars on Beale Street and historic Victorian homes, to the location where Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated and one of Elvis’ early residences. Delve into the city’s rich musical background at the Smithsonian’s Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum, then conclude the tour with a mouthwatering BBQ tasting, a photo opportunity of the city skyline at Mud Island Park’s famous “Memphis” sign, and a picturesque cruise on the Mississippi River.

  • Travel time and is already included in total tour duration.
  • This tour includes a visit to Mud Island River Park and the 50-foot MEMPHIS sign on the south end of the island. This is approximately .6 miles round-trip walking from the bus to the sign and back.
  • The Memphis Riverboat is located at the bottom of a 35% incline covered with historic cobblestones. Due to the historic nature of the cobblestones, buses or vehicles are not allowed to drop passengers off directly at the boat dock; guests will be dropped off and picked up from Riverside Dr.
  • Within a few blocks there are four different parking garages, and several open-air parking lots. The closest garage to our location (just two blocks away) is at 149 Peabody Place between Second Street and BB King Blvd., next to the Hampton Inn. You can try your luck with on-street metered parking, too, on Second Street just south of Beale; on Beale between Front and Second; or along Peabody Place from Front to Fourth Street.

Wonderful! - Our driver, Larry, was wonderful, as was the tour. We really enjoyed the Rock n' Soul Museum, the Central BBQ, and all the little stops along the way.

Fun, informative, and worth every penny! - I’ve been to many tours in different cities, but by far, this was my favorite tour. I’d give it more than 5 stars if I could. It was well organized, fun, exciting, and Mr. Larry went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and also walked us to the Memphis sign in Mud Island and made sure to take all of our photos next to the sign, he also shared a lot of Memphis’s history and answered all of our questions. The tour had many activities and stops and we ended it with a fun boat cruise. Also they were very considerate about our meal choices. Thanks and I’ll be recommending this tour!

Great price for 4 hour tour and 2 hour riverboat cruise! - I thought this tour was great for the price. We went on an air conditioned bus tour around town, toured Rock N Soul Museum, had a “taste” of BBQ which was more like a small meal 😊, and went on a 2 hour riverboat cruise. I learned a lot.

Memphis Discovery tour - We had taken the same tour April 6, 24. I was handicapped with limited mobility and sat on the tour bus for much of the tour. We had friends visiting from Texas and thought to do it again. It was well enjoyed by our guests along with us. We will most likely take other tours in the future.

A mini vacation - Again a fantastic day, great bus/walking tour first then a riverboat trip down the Mississippi, started on Beale street then a tour around the neighbourhood touching on the rich and varied history of Memphis, the trip included a stop at a great BBQ eatery ( sorry my hubby left our free cups on the bus so forget the name of the establishment! ) but the BBQ pulled pork/slaw bun was delicious, then onto the Rock ‘N’ Soul museum and finally onto the riverboat with a great funny and informative host before being dropped off back on Beale Street, great value for money and if limited time great to see everything in one day ( or see places you can then explore if you have more time) for me the trip highlighted that there is so much more to Memphis than Beale street!!

A great day - A really good tour with lots of information from passionate staff members. Local knowledge and stop offs meant we found things out you would not by going on your own

Memphis at its best. - Highly recommended this tour, wife and I enjoyed seeing all the historic sites. Larry, our driver was a pleasure to listen to as he drove our group around downtown Memphis. Also, enjoyed the riverboat down the Mississippi River. All the crew was professional and the MC was very knowledgeable with the history of the river and the city, his sense of humor made for a highly enjoyable experience. Thank you all

Memphis river boat tour - The touring points around Memphis were excellent…. However better directions for the meeting point would be better…. And the boat ride needs more live music and maybe a local blues band

Able to explore more in 1 day - The bus trip was great. I was not happy and neither was the group. Because the boat ride was miserable, it was so hot , no air conditioning, it was cooler outside than there. Other than that I would do it again just the bus tour only
