- Parque Provincial - Mirador Del Cerro Aconcagua - The Aconcagua Provincial Park is a protected area located in the Argentine Andes, near the Chilean border. It features the snow-capped Mount Aconcagua, one of South America’s tallest peaks. Visitors can take a path from the park entrance to the Los Horcones lagoon and the Quebrada del Durazno. The park’s high altitude is home to magnificent Andean condors. Nearby, the Puente del Inca, a natural bridge of orange stones, spans the Las Cuevas River. A short trek to the Mirador Aconcagua at 3,400 meters is available, along with an optional 50-minute trek to the end of the La Laguna trail, featuring a hanging bridge and a river amidst the mountains. Lunch will be at a restaurant in the caves sector, housed in an old building (not included in the tour price).
- Laguna del Inca - Nestled among the snowy Andes mountains, the stunning Laguna del Inca is an emerald-colored lake adjacent to the oldest ski resort in the Americas. It captivates with its breathtaking landscapes, local flora and fauna, and rich cultural significance. According to legend, Princess Kora-llé, the empire’s most powerful woman, and the Inca warrior Illi Yupanqui fell in love and planned to marry on a peak by a clear lagoon. Tragically, the princess fell and died during the wedding. The heartbroken warrior placed her body in the lagoon, and the water magically turned emerald, matching the princess’s eyes. The journey includes stops at:
- Chacabuco Battle Monument
- Salto El Soldado
- Chile - Argentina Border
- Portillo Ski Center
- Curve to view the Caracoles Route
- Puente del Inca - According to legend, warriors formed a human bridge for their chief, who crossed behind them. When they turned back, the warriors had turned to stone, creating the Puente del Inca. Scientifically, the bridge was formed by mineral waters.
- Ruta CH-60 - Travelers between Argentina and Chile via the Los Libertadores border crossing experience the Caracoles: a winding section of National Route 60. Due to the steep incline, Chile constructed a unique road requiring slow, cautious driving to maintain control during ascent or descent. Despite being a typical Andean road, the Caracoles is heavily trafficked due to its proximity to Mendoza, Argentina, and Santiago, Chile.
