Experience the awe of one of the region’s most remarkable reserves on this excursion to the Celestun Ecological Reserve from Merida. This one-day trip departs from your hotel and heads to:

A wildlife sanctuary located 96 km west of Mérida, this fishing port not only boasts beaches with crystal-clear waters but is also an eco-tourism haven. The Celestun National Park offers a stunning landscape as part of the Biosphere Reserve of the same name. Enjoy a 1.5-hour boat trip where you will explore magnificent mangroves, the Isla de los Pájaros, and the lagoons of Valeosera and Quinitun. This reserve is home to incredible species such as white-tailed deer, armadillos, crocodiles, tigrillos, turkeys, ducks, and numerous birds. The main highlight is observing pink flamingos, the freshwater spring, and lush vegetation. At the end of the tour, guests will be returned to their hotel. Please note that the boat ride fee is not included.

Uxmal and Kabah Archaeological Zone

Uxmal - Situated 80 km from Merida, this area showcases the Puuc Art style in the parallelepiped forms of its buildings, featuring smooth walls and decorative friezes. Many of the structures in Uxmal date back to the Classic Mayan period, with some from the middle to late phase. Chaac is depicted in multiple buildings, including the Governor’s Palace, the Nunnery Quadrangle, and the Pyramid of the Magician, among others.

Zona Arqueologica de Kabah - In Kabah, visitors can find a quadrangle called Codz-pop, meaning “rolled mat,” the arch, Chaac’s Masks, the Temple of the Columns, and The Witch’s House.

Chichen Itza Archaeological Site Tour

Chichen Itza - Approximately 553 years old, these renowned Mayan pyramids are located about an hour and a half away. The name Chichen Itza is derived from the Mayan words “Chi” meaning mouth, “Chen” meaning hole, and “Itza,” the name of the region. This site is divided into three areas: the north group (Toltec), the central group (the early period), and the area known as El Viejo Chichen (The Old Chichen). The tour will cover the first two groups.
