Comfy van, nice guide, see flamingos from a boat! - I had never seen a flamingo, so the boat trip to see them actively digging (dancing 😃) up brine shrimp was awesome. The van ride was comfortable, and Juan our guide, and Rene our driver were friendly, helpful, and accommodating to the only 2 English speakers on the trip. Las Coloradas is pretty, the beach was great, and the boatride to dinner was fun. A good day!

"A Magical Day Trip from Mérida!" - This tour was absolutely breathtaking from start to finish! Las Coloradas looked like something out of a dream — the pink lakes were surreal, especially under the sunlight. Our guide was super knowledgeable and explained the salt extraction process and the ecosystem in a fun, engaging way. The boat ride through Río Lagartos was a total highlight — we saw flamingos, crocodiles, and so many birds! The natural clay mask experience was a fun surprise, and our skin actually felt amazing after. We ended the day at Playa Cancuncito, a beautiful secluded beach with calm, shallow waters — the perfect place to relax. I can’t recommend this tour enough if you’re in Mérida. It's a must-do!

Amazing! - We had an amazing time with Michelle! The tour was very well planned, they worked well with other organizations to give us the best experience at each destination. The food was absolutely delicious! I absolutely recommend!

Too beautiful place - The trip was well worth it. Las Coloradas are a lake inside a salt plant, in which one cannot take a bath. But the color and the photos are very worth it. You will camihar there for about 45 minutes, so consider a tennis cloth and plenty of sunscreen (you can't bring water with you, or anything that flies easy, so you don't contaminate the salt). From there we went to a beautiful beach, in the sea of the Gulf of Mexico (green and hot water). The beach has no bar structure, but it has a place that rents chairs and sells beds. The time is short (about 1 hour, but enough to enjoy). Then, a boat ride on a beautiful river, to see birds and crocodiles. And ends with a delicious lunch in a fishing village. The guide (Tony) was a little bitch and still shot beautiful photos for my group of friends. I recommend the tour and the Colibrí Tour.

Overall great experience with unnecessary stop at the beach. - The overall experience was really good. The pink lakes were amazing, pictures don’t reflect the real experience. The trip on the speedboat through the mangroves was also an amazing experience ( it lasted quite a while). We saw a lot of birds ( no pink flamingos tho), we saw 2 crocodiles and the mud bath at the end of the trip was also really good. Food in the restaurant was very tasty and presented nicely. The let down of the trip was the stop at the beach for an hour. The beach wasn’t very nice and it could have been skipped. Overall I’d recommend this excursion.

Outstanding full day trip. Worth every peso - Dontt miss this trip if you are in Merida. It's a long drive to Las Colorados, but the moment you see it, makes it all worthwhile. Pictures don't do justice to the spectacular natural beauty. The beach stop was fine for a cooling dip, but it was very windy and crowded when we were there. The Rio Lagartos boat ride was great fun. The boat captains lwere great. While we didn't see flamingos ( who have all gone off to mate) they did find us a crocodile.. The clay mud bath was a fun, if smelly, experience and finally lunch was great. Some excellent choices and I highly recommend the ceviche. Our bilingual guide Saul and driver Miguel were excellent.

Long but worth it - Overall very fun. Our guide Saul was very knowledgeable and spoke in both English and Spanish. Las Coloradas were *amazing*, even more pink and beautiful than I expected. Cancunito was beautiful but it was very windy, so that took away. The boat tour was also excellent, though you don’t see flamingos in May. The restaurant was an excellent end to a very nice day.

Let down by inadequate transport - The day was amazing with some fantastic experiences but I am sad that I can only give the review 3 stars because the transport there and back was incredibly uncomfortable. I would not recommend putting 4 adults (including 2 over 6 ft) on the back seat of a small minibus and then driving for over 3 hours on the way there and over 2.5 hours on way back. A unforgettable experience badly let down by the quality of transport.

Great day one we got there, but 3 hour bus journey too uncomfortable - We had a great day once we got there, as we saw pelicans, crocodiles and enjoyed the salt lake and beaches, but it was let down by the 3 hour minibus journey there and back. Our family of 4 were on the back seat that was not designed to take 4 adults (180cm and over) on a 3 hour journey, as it had no leg room and the air con did not reach the back. We were all very uncomfortable and unfortunately it really did take its toll on the whole experience, which is a shame as our guide was very good.

Good for pictures bad for experience - I wouldn't recommend this trip, especially if you want to have more than a few pretty Instagram pictures. The sites are great but unfortunately the tour guide was the worst we've ever experienced. She didn't care if anyone can hear her speak, although we asked her to adjust her microphone twice. It wasn't just us, no one behind the second row could hear anything neither in Spanish nor in English. We were very excited to learn about the salt lakes, the mangroves and the birds, we even bought a bird guide before the trip. Unfortunately there wasn't a lot of information on those either. On top you're in a van where half of the people can't even look out of a window, because either they are too low or there is none in the last row. We book guided tours regularly and usually have a great experience but this unfortunately wasn't it. Only go on this tour if you're there for pretty pictures but not to learn.
