Lovely workshop - I had a great experience and might have a new hobby! The workshop begins with an explanation of the history of embroidery in Mexico and what the characteristics of the style are. Then we practiced a bit and I got to work on my piece. After the workshop you get to take yarn and the piece with you to finish it at home. I left with a big smile ☺️

This experience was such a find - If you love doing crafts you will love learning embroidery with Mayra in her home. I had a wonderful time chatting and sharing. It was fun to embroider the project on my travel home. I will cherish the day forever. Thank you Mayra!

So good I'm taking my sister next time! - It was a wonderful experience and a lot of fun. The teacher was friendly, helpful, and overall it was very informative. I will be going back with my sister later in the month! It's a very quiet relaxing time, and also gives you perspective on the kind of work that goes in to the textiles you see and they buy on your trip.

Creative and sooo much fun! - Oh you will love this class! Seeing the embroidery all over Mexico is great inspiration and the class is so much fun. The instructor uses a translation app on her phone to translate what she is saying so don’t be worried if you do not speak Spanish. Also she is wonderful and very helpful as students are learning. I highly recommend!!

I was unable to attend... - I was unable to attend the workshop because I could not find it! I was given 2 addresses, I went to both places, and no one was in either location. As a matter of fact, the buildings were both locked up. I am heartbroken that I was not able to learn this embroidery method. I would like a refund. I also strongly recommend that directions include a photo of the location. Mérida is a confusing city, even for the Uber and taxi drivers I employed. 😔

Zero Communication - Location of Workshop Unclear - I booked this workshop for my wife, and she did enjoy it. However, there was zero communication from the people who put this workshop on. After booking the workshop, I received confirmation from Tripadvisor and instructions that the address or location of the workshop would be sent to me a few hours prior to the workshop. This never happened. There was a partial address given with the confirmation, but no house number. Based on the partial address given, we tried to find the workshop. After going to the wrong place, we tried to contact the workshop leader through Tripadvisor, but received no reply. Finally, after some detective work on my part, we were able of locate the workshop. I've done a lot of tours through Tripadvisor and the tour leaders have always reached out and communicated with me, especially about where to meet. This workshop leader simply did not do this. Después de reservar, recibí confirmación de Tripadvisor e instrucciones de que me enviarían la dirección o ubicación del taller unas horas antes. Esto nunca ocurrió. La confirmación incluía una dirección parcial, pero no el número de casa. Con base en esta dirección parcial, intentamos encontrar el taller. Tras equivocarnos de lugar, intentamos contactar con el/la guía del taller a través de Tripadvisor, pero no recibimos respuesta. Finalmente, tras una investigación por mi parte, pudimos localizar el taller. He hecho muchos tours a través de Tripadvisor y los guías siempre se han puesto en contacto conmigo, especialmente para preguntarme dónde encontrarnos. Este/a guía del taller simplemente no lo hizo.
