Located 80 away km from Mérida, Uxmal showcases the exquisite Puuc art style in the paralleled forms of its buildings, featuring smooth walls and ornate friezes. Most of Uxmal’s structures date back to the Classic Maya period, with some belonging to the Late Classic phase. The rain god Chaac is prominently represented across numerous buildings, including the Governor’s Palace, the Nunnery Quadrangle, and the Pyramid of the Magician.

Continue to Kabah, another remarkable site, boasts the Codz Poop Quadrangle, which means “rolled mat,” featuring intricate stonework and Chaac masks. Here, you can also explore the grand arch, the Temple of the Columns, and the Witch’s House, each contributing to the rich tapestry of Maya architecture and culture.
