A necessary experience - Very nice activity and Anel and Diego were excellent and patient throughout. If you are doing the activity wear a blocker, cap and long sleeve shirt if you do not want to burn from the sun.

Go, go, go! - Great guide and experience. The highlight for me was the Cenote. It was so refreshing after being out in the sun for 2 hours.

Some good, some not so much! - Half great, half not good. First off, Chichen Itza is a must visit. It's much more expansive than many know. The history, the stories, the explanation defying physics and sound reverberations. Amazing place to visit, but very hot and crowded with vendors. Was surprised at the number of vendors along every single walkway, many selling the same items. But the vendors are pleasant and laid back, not intrusive or forceful. Cenote Ik Kil is not the best of the Cenotes, but it was a lot of fun and very, very relaxing. Try to get there before the tour buses and big crowds, so you can enjoy the peace and serenity of floating with the fish. It looks just like every Cenote you've seen in the movies. Wear beach shoes, or you will have to go barefoot. Be prepared for cold water, but my body adjusted to it very quickly. Requires the ability to get in and get out via a ladder. It was lovely until it got crowded and loud. The lunch was awful! They take you to a "buffet" of US high school cafeteria quality food. Said that had "cochinita pibil," but it was roasted pork with some red sauce on it. Tasted bad and was NOT cochinita pibil. The best thing here was the watermelon which was mildly sweet. Pass this up, if you can. Dreadful. We all left very hungry still. Izamal, is an easy place to pass, as well. You climb to the top of an old ruin, via steps that are broken and haphazard, with no hand rails, so it's not an easy climb for anyone. The goal is to then see the view of the "golden city," but the view is blocked by trees, so all you see is the top of the church. Not worth the hike up, at all! The city itself is quaint, but unless you want to shop, there's nothing to see of do. We cut our time there short, because we were given 45 minutes to see the church and walk the city center. We were done with the church in 5 minutes, and didn't want to shop, so decided to call it a day. Not at all worth a special trip.

Disappointed - While our guides were lovely people, the tour did disappoint. Especially the time at Chichén Itza felt extremely rushed and there was very little explanation about any of the monuments that we got to see. We were not shown majority of the site and were rushed to a sales pitch at one of the many stalls. Given that you pay quite a large entrance fee this was a shame. The Centre was lovely to see and swim in and was a wonderful experience. The way the lunch was set up felt extremely degrading to the local people actually working there and it also gave both of us food poisoning. The tour of Izamal was in fact not a tour it was just a drop of with another sales pitch at a tourist shop and an hour of self guided exploring. We still had a good time but felt that we didn’t have to spend that much money on this experience and that a self guided tour of these places would’ve probably been more worth it.
