Day trip to New Brighton - We enjoyed a river cruise on Mersey Ferries on a recent visit to Liverpool. We disembarked at Seacombe and had a ride on the free open top bus to New Brighton. The ferry was very busy on the return journey - it’s probably better to travel earlier in the day.

Very interesting! Very interesting! - A well-priced tour (around 12-16 pounds), which is well worth it, for the excellent views it provides. The boat is good, and navigation around Liverpool Bay is very pleasant. Tour with great price (something like 12-16 pounds), which is very worthwhile, for the excellent views it provides. The boat is good, and the sailing around Liverpool Bay is very pleasant.

Excellent river tour of the Liverpool and Wirral sides of the Mersey. - An excellent tour of the Mersey river between Liverpool and The Wirral which effectively runs hourly between 10am and 4pm. We boarded at Seacombe and crossed to Liverpool whilst being entertained by Beatles music and an interesting commentary on the passing scene on both sides of the river. We disembarked at Liverpool Pier Head and spent four hours exploring Liverpool city centre before returning on a subsequent ferry. There is a cafe at both terminals as well as on board.

Spoilt by very very loud ear damaging music - Now I go to rock concerts but the sea shanty music for 3 hours solid on the upper deck at the back with the massive speakers is actually dangerous to your hearing. This totally spoilt the trip for us. Ok no one likes the same kind of music but normally we have a choice to get away from it because you don't like it.... we needed the choice to protect our hearing..... you can't escape it on a boat. It was totally inflicted on us at ear damaging levels. The volume was not safe, it was so much louder than a rock concert. The boat was full so hard to move seats. We managed to get the attention of a steward (young lad, dark hair, pony tail?) , he moved us down stairs (after 5 minutes of literally screaming at him and making gestures to our ears as no one could hear a thing over the awful music) . Such a lovely member of staff, moved us to outside bottom deck where if speaking VERY loudly you could actually have a conservation. I think bottom deck inside would be managible. I have been to a Black Sabeth concert amongst others but the volume on this boat needs a visit from Environmental health. Boat nice and clean, tour great (however totally spoilt by music), staff great. Would never take this trip again

Not worth the money - When I booked the tour, I thought we would be getting the boat in the picture but we got this run down boat. The tickets for this 'tour' cost over 20 pound. The recorded commentary was totally out of sync with the buildings that we were passing. The tour was supposed to last for 50 minutes but I felt it finished a lot quicker than that. I would not recommend this boat trip.
