Highlights
  • Merzouga Desert - Private Tour To Marrakech From Fez Via Erg Chebbi Dunes For 3 Days

Day 1: Fes - Merzouga

After breakfast, depart from Fez and head towards Merzouga, passing through Ifrane to reach the cedar forests of Azrou, home to wild monkeys. This is a great opportunity to capture photos of Morocco’s wilderness. Enjoy lunch in the small Berber village of Zaida. Continue through the Atlas Mountains, taking in the scenic landscapes of Medilt, until you arrive at the small town of Rich and then Erfoud, where you’ll sense the beginning of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet. Proceed to Merzouga, where camels and a guide will be ready to take you into the Erg Chebbi desert for an hour-long ride. Upon arrival at the camp, you’ll be shown to your luxury tent with a private bathroom. Enjoy a cup of tea, watch the sunset, and try sandboarding on the nearby dunes. Dinner and Berber music will follow.

  • Dades Gorges - Day 2: Merzouga Desert - Rissani Market - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley

Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes near the camp. Return to the camp for breakfast, then ride the camels back to Merzouga village. Next, head to Rissani to visit the marketplace (market days: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday). Continue to Erfoud to see the fossilized marble workshops before making your way through the Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves. An hour later, you’ll reach the stunning Todra Gorges, a popular spot for climbers due to its beautiful cliff-sided canyon. Enjoy free time for lunch and take a short walk through the gorges to fully appreciate the landscape. In the afternoon, continue to Boumalne Dades. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel Ksar Sultan Dades or a similar hotel.

  • Marrakech - Day 3: Dades Valley - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - High Atlas - Marrakech

After breakfast, take in one of the best views of the Dades Valley from a strategic lookout in the mountains, where you can see numerous kasbahs and their unique features. Make several stops along the “One Thousand Kasbahs Road,” the Roses Valley, and the large Skoura palm grove before arriving in Ouarzazate. Visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, the former residence of the Glaoui or Marrakech pasha, and the cinema studio in Ouarzazate. Stop at the ksar (fortified village) of Ait Ben Haddou to visit the famous Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986, and the filming location for movies like Gladiator, The Mummy, and The Jewel of the Nile. Enjoy free time for lunch in town. In the afternoon, head towards Marrakech via the Tizi Ntichka mountain pass, arriving around 6 PM. Transfer to your hotel in Marrakech. End of tour.

3-day tour across Morocco - We started our tour from Fes, passing through beautiful landscapes such as Afrou, Ifrane and Ziz Valley. Once arrived in Merzouga, we rode camels to the desert camp and looked at the sunset from the dunes. The camp has everything you need and it is typical, with live Berber music after dinner (however, the camp is quite basic, but you can choose different luxury camps if you want, it depends on what you are looking for). The following day, we looked at the sunrise and then continued to Todra Gorges, Dades Valley and Skoura Oasis, visiting a stunning ancient Kasbah. After that, we slept in Ouarzazate in a beautiful hotel of our choice. On the last day, we visited the “Ouarzawood” studios in Ouarzazate and the village of Ait Ben Haddou, where several movies such as “the Gladiator” were filmed, and then we arrived in the evening in Marakech. Our driver, Said, who spoke fluently English, French and Arabic, was extremely experienced and a very pleasant company; he accompanied us to eat in truly local Moroccan places and gave us a lot of advices. He drove us through amazing landscapes in the Middle and High Atlas, answering to all our questions about society and history. The whole tour was very well organized and Ahmed was very flexible to accommodate to our requests. I would advise “Quiet Merzouga” to anyone interested to have a “tailor - made” private trip across Morocco.
