Partake in an exclusive cooking workshop at the home of a Cesarina, delve into the mysteries of renowned Messina cuisine, and savour the result of your effort complemented by a local wine.
During this tutorial, the Cesarina will unveil the secrets behind 3 genuine regional recipes. Enjoy challenging your cooking prowess. Each student will receive a cooking station with the required utensils and ingredients necessary for the dish preparation. Afterwards, relish all you’ve created coupled with a variety of local red and white wines.
Cesarine represents Italy’s ancient network of over 1,000 home chefs scattered across the country in over 120 cities. These host are passionate and hospitable, inviting inquisitive tourists into their homes for enriching gastronomic adventures.
- Please note that our Cesarine are ready and thrilled to host you in their homes! All Cesarine are always very careful and attentive of the important sanitary rules needed, even more now! The homes provide all the essential sanitary equipment for the guests (paper towels for washing hands, hand sanitizing gel and so on). Remember to always maintain 1 meter distance from each other and if not, wear masks and gloves

Great experience. Highly recommend. - It was an absolute dream to cook with Rosella and her family in their home. The pasta was so delicious.
The directions to her home took us to an odd location. Thankfully, Rosella was great thru WhatsApp and after a short 500m walk we were at her building. A tip for others, if you are doing this during a cruise, book a private car for both ways. The taxi fleeced us for 70 euro to go 1.7 miles. This is not walkable from the port so we took a cab. The expo was amazing though!
You’ll be assigned a local cook after you book, perhaps your location will be walkable!

What A Wonderful and Amazing Experience! - Where do I begin…
If you plan on taking a pasta making class, I’d highly recommended this one.
I guarantee you’ll feel as wonderful and welcomed as we did ending the evening with this wonderful and inviting couple. Rossella and Giuseppe.
During the course we sampled sparkling wine, snacks and appetizers, made our pasta from scratch, learned about the local culture and discussed ingredients for authentic red and white cream sauces. We closed out the afternoon by enjoying our delicious creations with a wonderful bottle of paired red wine and freshly made cannolis.
On our departure, we were each gifted a parting gift from Rossella.
This afternoon was the BEST part of visiting Vanetta. AWESOME from start to finish. I can’t say enough about this wonderful experience and guarantee you’ll feel the same way.

Sicilian for a day! - Our cooking class with Mariella was everything we hoped for and more! Our family of 6 laughed and had a great time and with the help of Google translate, we cooked pasta, focaccia, and other Sicilian dishes! We were in Messina for a cruise ship port, and booked the cooking class. Mariella and her sister in law picked us up and took us to her home, with a gorgeous view overlooking the Messina straight. This was different than a typical tourist day and we highly recommend! Mariella is the sweetest and we felt truly welcomed into her home and visiting a family member!

What a delightful day! - Guisy’s teaching and lunch in her beautiful garden was one of the highlights of our Mediterranean cruise vacation. I learned how to make delicious pasta from scratch along with other delightful accompanying dishes. Guisy was so gracious and helpful. At the end of our event she escorted our small group to her local grocery store since I had mentioned that visiting groceries in foreign countries is one of my passions. Then she arranged for our cab trip back to the port. I would highly recommend this tour - and ask for Guisy! Her home is right on the beach!

So much fun!!! - Mariella was our host and she was absolutely lovely! We had so much fun using the google translator which added to the authenticity of our experience. Her home is beautiful and set up very well for the cooking class and dining. Her very sweet husband John was behind the scenes putting things in the oven etc as we continued to create new dishes. Mariella made the experience fun for me, my husband, and our two adult sons. It was my husbands birthday and he said it was his favorite birthday outing. It was nice spending time with locals and pause from the traditional sight seeing rush. We loved every minute! I highly recommend you add it to your trip, and if you're lucky, you'll get Mariella.

Family Cooking by a Local. - We had the most wonderful time cooking and then sharing our meal with the Canto Family.
First of all, Giuseppe even picked us up from our hotel! We were greeted so warmly
they made us feel so welcomed, and I fell we became friends by the end of the evening.
Beautiful Rosella, taught us to make pasta from scratch, and we learned of the delicious Christmas Cookie tradition, that I intend to incorporate this Christmas with my family.
This is a must do when in Messina!

The Best Part of Our Trip!! - I cannot recommend this experience enough!! My husband and I were on our honeymoon, and wanted to experience a true Italian cooking class. This is that experience. We were welcomed into Daniela's home, learned about the culture, and even got to try some yummy Sicilian snacks before we dove in. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. This was the best part of our trip to Italy!!! Highly recommend!

What a Wonderful Day! - We had such a wonderful time with Maria, we instantly felt like we were hanging out with friends we had known a long time. Her home is lovely and all of the food was excellent. I can’t wait to go home and try to make my own pasta! This was the most memorable part of our entire trip and we hope to be able to return again someday.

Mariella in Sicily (Messina) was "the best day of our vacation" - Mariella was amazing that's all I can say! We are a family of 5 - 2 adults _+ 3 kids ages 16, 14, and 12. We all enjoyed the food and most importantly the overall experience, process of making food, and the wonderful meal together. Mariella is a wonderful host who welcomed us into her home and gave us "the best day of our vacation".
