Great way to see Messina/Sicily - I can't say enough about this excursion. They picked us up at the cruise terminal at 8:30. I was afraid we wouldn't have enough time to get off the ship because we docked at 8:00. No problems there. A small bus took us to Taormina where we could shop or get a bite to eat. Cute little town. We then ate lunch (included) aleast w/ out tour. Good Spagetti, bread and salad. Back on the bus for a ride to the marina maybe 45 mins. We were guided to our boat and off we went. The water is so beautiful and the boat driver definately new his stuff. He took that boat inside a cave so we could see it. It was a beautifl way to see Sicily from the water. Plus they gave us a chance to swim/snorkel.

Great trip to Taormina and swim in Ionian Sea. - We saw the beautiful countryside on the drive from Port to Taormina which is about an hour. Alessandra our tour guide was amazing and we learned lots of history during the drive.. Taormina has a lot of shopping a couple of church’s, restaurants. We then took the boat tour, which I expected to be very short, but it wasn’t. It was a nice tour our boat captain enjoyed his job and made sure w head a great time. We even had time for a swim in the Ionian Sea. Alessandra and boat captain shared Italian treats with us and that was an unexpected surprise.

Beautiful boat tour - We booked this tour through Shore Excursions Group. We learnt heaps about Sicily and got some good directions for where to get the best local food in Taormina from our tour guide, Alessandra. The boat trip from Naxos Pier was incredible. Our boat driver stopped at all the grottos and scenic places.

Informative and Fun! - We had a fantastic time on our recent half day tour with Discover Messina. The communication from this company was first class and it made for a very smooth experience. Our guide Alessia was outstanding (as were our bus driver and boat captain!) and she had a wealth of knowledge about Sicily. Taormina was beautiful but the boat cruise and swim were definitely a highlight. Would recommend this company to any cruise or private travelers to Sicily.

This is a great tour company and I will use them again - This was one of the best experiences of our cruise. Roberto was a great tour guide. Right from the beginning, he greeted us with a smile. He shared some much information about the culture and the best was his suggestions on the cannoli, cassata and arancini to eat in Taormina. Then the second part was amazing!! THe boat to the blue grotto and swimming was a great way to top of the experience. Davide was our captain and was accommodating. I have to also than our driver Giancarlo who was awesome.

Great trip to Taormina and Blue Grotto - We had a wonderful time on this excursion. Our tour guide Carmelo was amazing, knowledgeable and passionate about the area. We started with the boat ride that was very scenic, and also enjoyed a refreshing 30 minute swim before returning to shore. We had a nice walk through Taormina on our way to the Greek Theatre. It was a great setting and we enjoyed walking through it. Our return trip was also full of interesting facts about Mt Etna and other parts of Sicily. We highly recommend this excursion.

Great Boat Tour, but Not Guided City Tour - We give this tour four stars: 1. Let me start by saying, we really enjoyed the beautiful boat tour and opportunity to swim. It truly was amazing. However, the tour title and price is misleading. There was no guided city tour. The word “optional” in the description for a guided tour is buried in the narrative. We had to reread it later because for the price, we thought we’d get a guided tour of the city. 2. We weren’t even offered a guided tour for an additional price. We set out on our own to explore, but have enjoyed having a guide. Note: We went to see the ancient theatre, but you must have a ticket to get in and even at mid October, the line was too long.

Great tour and boat trip - more info about Taormina would have been good - We loved the tour! Claudia was amazing, knowledgeable and informative. The boat trip and swimming in the ocean was the highlight. The only thing that was a letdown for us was that we did not receive a tour of Taormina. We were left to wander the town and eat lunch by ourselves for 2-3 hours. We would have preferred a short tour of the highlights of Taormina and then 1-2 hours of 'free-time'.

Great tour for a glimpse of Messina - Boat trip is nice however it does not stop on the island. You get to see some nice caves. You get to swim the water was nice. Our captain was super nice. Taormina is beautiful but you would need more than a couple of hours if you want to fully enjoy and have lunch.
