Starting from the place of departure, we are off to the historic town of Savoca in Sicily, an impressive medieval hamlet dubbed one of Italy’s most beautiful villages.
Here, you will embark on a mini tour of Savoca, tracing the path taken by the Godfather movie by F.F. Coppola. A statue in honor of Coppola is situated in the village’s scenic square, a spot also famous for the renowned Vitelli bar. Our tour guides will recount the area’s history and local celebrations.
Next, we head to Taormina, famously referred to as the ‘Mediterranean Pearl’. You’ll explore the ancient avenue of Corso Umberto, recently one of the filming locations for White Lotus Sicily’s second season.

Book without any stress and enjoy this wonderful tour! - This was one of the best private tours I’ve had. First time in Italy and on Mediterranean cruise. Alessandra and JohnCarlo took us to Savoca where Godfather movie was filmed and then took us to Taormina. When we got out of the cruise, we were greeted by both of them. Alessandra has in-depth knowledge of Sicily! She gave us so much insight to Sicilian history and the places we were going to see. I loved listening to her and learn from her about Sicily. She brought us baked goods to try (one dessert item). This tour felt very relaxed, no rush and lots of fun. JohnCarlo drove us to all destinations. Both of them ensured we had enough time to visit each places but also made sure we got back to the cruise an half hour to 45 minutes before the cruise’s last call to close the gangway. I want to give a shoutout to both Alessandra and JohnCarlo for their exceptional tour. I wish I can do the whole Sicily tour with them in the future :)

JUST BUY THE TICKETS - The best tour we took our entire trip! We did a Mediterranean Cruise and this stop was the HIGHLIGHT of our trip. Messina/Taormina is BEAUTIFUL!! Our tour was full of history not only about the Godfather but also about the people and territory. We were picked up in port, had plenty of time to hear from the tour guide and plenty of time for exploring on our own. We went with a big group of family and friends and this tour was very family, couple and friend friendly. The tour guide was amazing, she is a local and provided us with sweet treats from a local bakery. Truly an amazing tour and we will definitely be coming back - this time for longer than a day!

Godfather and Taormins - Our tour guide Katia was outstanding. She made us feel very welcome. She was very knowledgeable and was able to show us sites that were amazing. We strolled through the streets of Taormina and she showed the best places to eat. This was the best tour. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to visit Sicily.

Messina tour to Taormina. Alessia did a great job. Great driver we have. - Alessia was great. Very knowledge, helpful and patience. She did a good job explaining the Godfather location of the filmed. Taormina was great, she showed us places to eat and shops. She gives everyone water and sample of cookies. The driver did a great job. Got us all safe back to the port.

Fun tour, beautiful scenery. - Tour was seamless and as described. Our guide was great and we really enjoyed the beautiful drive. Would highly recommend when you only have time for a 1/2 day tour.

Great mountain and Godfather tour!! - Cecilia was phenomenal!! Very knowledgeable and friendly! Great tour! Would highly recommend to anyone who likes beautiful scenery, but doesn’t mind myriad switchbacks on a mountain roads to Savuco and Taormina.

Stay away from Venture Ashore - This was an absolutely terrible tour. We had 2 people leave in a taxi because they were so disappointed. Your tour guide said this tour was at his discretion. He took us to his friends pizza restaurant and we had to wait for the tour guide to eat his extremely upgraded pizza to ours. He can a café of wine. Then talked to his wife on the phone then ordered an expresso while we were waiting to go to Teraminio which he never took us to and that was the stop we really wanted to see. He had an iPad and playing parts of the Godfather that no one could see due to the sun on the iPad. This was the worst tour I’ve ever been on. When we found out we were not going to Termanimi we asked to go to a village for shopping with local art. He said he could take us to a mall where everything as he laughed was made in China. We got to this stop and we all said no we don’t want a mall. He then said I’m getting off here my wife is picking me up and you will continue on with the driver. A non-speaking English driver. Never ever in my 30 years of traveling have I had a tour guide leave the tour. We returned to the ship 2 hours early. I demand a full refund.
