- Methven - There can be few finer places to take a balloon flight than New Zealand’s Canterbury Plains. We take off close to the foothills of Mt. Hutt, where the mountains provide excellent shelter from the prevailing North Westerly winds. We have unlimited airspace restrictions upto 9,500 ft which gives us fantastic views across the southern alps as far away as Mt. Cook and Mt. Aspiring and also looking East across the patchwork landscape of the plains to the Pacific coast. Methven is a great place to spend a few days with many other attractions including mountain walks and the Lord of the Rings site at Mt. Sunday.

Our expert pilots will transport you to an altitude of 9500 ft, giving you a breath-taking view of the Canterbury Plains. Witness the stunning panoramic scenes stretching from the mountains in the west to the Pacific Ocean in the east. Our launch point is the well-known base of Mt Hutt. The flight experience is nothing short of thrilling, as you soar above the canopy of trees and rise high to observe the expanse of the Canterbury Plains ahead of you. Turning westward, the awe-inspiring, snow-capped Southern Alps come into view.

Excellent - Such an incredible experience! I'm terrified of heights so I wasn't sure how I'd handle it, but it was so much fun. We got to help with set up and pack down too, and enjoyed a glass of bubbles post-flight. The pilot was friendly and knowledgeable and was more than happy to share his expertise. I'd definitely go ballooning with them again.

Magical day - My granddaughter and I had an amazing experience .The flight was outstanding from the booking, ( they accommodated a very late request for an extra person) to the very gentle landing followed by a glass of very nice bubbles and muffins .A gift from my family to celebrate my 70th birthday.A gift with memories for a live time

fun, fun, fun - Amazing experience. I wasn’t sure due to height fear but nothing further than the truth. the balloon just gently lifted off and we were away with 5+ pilot.
Amazing views. just floating above with the rate occasion of the burners.
Our landing was the best part! we all assumed our position/ hold on tight, bend knees and back to ground. The air current tipped the basket and slid about 15m. I was on top of hubby squashing him, the other 2 from aussie were a bit off centre and the guy was doing a plank!
Sounds horrific but we all came out laughing and the easiest way to exit the balloon. we just crawled out no high stepping for us
Champagne to finish. 100% would go this again and recommend this company. loved every minute

Bucketlist Experience = Speechless - Amazing trip, felt like you were just floating on a cloud. Graeme the guide/driver was outstanding, great commentary of the area and made us all feel welcome. I would highly highly recommend. We will definitely be back to do it again another day!

Out of this world - The introduction was great, and from there it just got better, got to take great photos and videos, the take off was so gentle, and the landing was so smooth, I had no idea it was going to be so fantastic,
I would recommend this experience to anybody, and you have no worries, just do it.
The team made it such a wonderful experience, thank you guys. Just one fault, not enough champagne 🍾, two glasses would be better, it's something to think about. Thanks guys.
