Scenic ride through the countryside. - Rocco was a fantastic guide. He was very well informed about the local history and geography. We stopped along the way to take photos and get explanations. The owners of the donkey farm were very friendly and showed us around the farm. It’s a great way to get out of town away from the crowds and see the countryside. Beautiful and easy route with frequent stops - Most of the tours around alberobello are walking tours of town. I wanted to get out in the country and get some exercise. Donkeys weren’t exactly on my to do list but I thought “why not?” It was a surprisingly relaxing experience to be in the field with these large and friendly animals. The bike was comfortable and had a good motor to take the hills. Saddle bags and water were provided. We made frequent stops at interesting sites even checking out a rustic trullo. My guide was very informed about everything from the history to architecture to flora and fauna. If you are lucky enough to have a small group like I did you will get the most from the trip by telling your guide your interests and how fast you want to go!
