Highlight of our trip to Italy - Our truffle hunting experience was the highlight of our trip to Italy. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Watching Portos find truffles was a joy. After the beautiful hike, we enjoyed delicious appetizers and charcuterie with truffle shavings. The staff was so flexible to accomodate our vegan and allergy dietary requests. Our driver, Andrea, was also really friendly and knowledgeable. Carmen was super helpful organizing our adventure and our transportation. Thank you for a wonderful adventure!

Truffle Hunting and Lunch in the Mugello Valley - This was a wonderful experience which I would highly recommended . It was quite an experience watching Claudio, and his dog Gina, hunt for truffles . It wasn’t just the hunt but their amazing relationship too. Paolo, who was our guide for the trip, is a very informative and friendly guide who really took pride in showing us the beautiful Tuscan countryside . We had to make additional arrangements for a pick up because we didn’t drive and it turned out to be a fantastic opportunity to see more of the surrounding areas. Paolo took us for a quick stop at the beautiful town of Scarperia and also to have a quick peek at the famous Mugello circuit . I find that the company was very flexible with arrangements this way and being able to add this on made our experience an even more enriching one.
After the truffle hunt, we were served a huge lunch which was prepared by the very warm and talented Simona. The people we met were all lovely. I think that we were so lucky to have found the Mugello and Tuscany tour company because that day was certainly a highlight of our trip.

Amazing experience - We had a great experience! Despite the rain, everything was prepared so great, that we stayed dried and enjoy our experience so much!! Will definitely come back!!

Truffle hunting - We went truffle hunting for black truffles on a beautiful, crisp sunny day in February. Our guides (we had two, one Paolo who spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable about truffles and the history of Italy generally) and the other a dog trainer and professional truffle hunter with decades of experience. We found about 8-9 truffles, it was an authentic experience and the kids absolutely loved it. We also bought the truffles we found at the end and were given clear instructions on how to package and keep them fresh, so we could enjoy cooking with them on our return. Highly recommend the experience and we'd very much do it again, maybe in white truffle season to see the difference.

Super fun activity with the family - The truffle hunting experience was such fun, with the truffle hunter dog Archilles being extremely enthusiastic and successful in sniffling out truffles under the watchful eye of his owner Gianni. Carmen, who is the business owner, was very friendly and knowledgable. Paolo who handled the booking was always efficient in responding to our queries and was waiting to pick us from the local train station. We had a fantastic time and highly recommend this activity!

A magical experience. - My Mugello truffle hunting experience was nothing short of magical from start to finish. Coming from Florence, Paolo arranged to collect and drop me off the local train station. On the drive, Paolo shared his knowledge of the history of the Mugello valley and pointed out the Cafaggiolo castle and one of the prominent Medici family’s holiday homes.
Before setting off on our truffle hunt, we got to know our group over coffee. We were a group of five and got along brilliantly. As a solo traveller, it was lovely to share the day with them.
Our truffle hunter, Gianni and his dog, Achilles, led us on an exciting hunt, where seven black truffles were unearthed. It was remarkable to watch Gianni and Achilles in action. We got to touch, hold and smell the freshly harvested truffles and even dig some out ourselves. They were taken back, weighed and prepared for our lunch – post pasta-making.
Paola’s lovely daughter, Carmen, welcomed us back to the property with some truffle tapenades. Chef Gabriel demonstrated how to make three types of fresh pasta, which we then made ourselves. He was a patient and encouraging teacher, taking time to answer our questions and ensure we got great results. He then prepared our pasta for lunch along with some incredible meat and vegetable dishes. The produce was so fresh and absolutely delicious. He hand shaved the truffles we had collected onto the pasta dishes and wow, it was sensational!
Paolo also sent personalised messages to each of us, including recipes from the day, a history of Mugello and plenty of photos from the truffle hunt.
If you’re debating whether to book this experience, don’t hesitate. The Mugello team are highly professional, passionate and personable. They went above and beyond to ensure my experience was unforgettable and the highlight of my five weeks in Italy. Thank you so much Paolo and team!

Amazing experience - I recommend this amazing truffle hunting experience! Paolo is a very friendly guide and was able to answer all our questions. The hunting itself was very interesting and fun! Truffle hunting in Tuscany - We had the Truffle Hunt tour at Agriturismo Corzano near Barberino di Mugello and visited two Unesco world heritage sites once owned by the Medici family. Truffle tour was exciting because we saw various types of plants and mushroom varieties along the way. Afterwards, our guide Paolo took us on a scenic route to see these historical buildings which are currently serving as residences for two different families. Namely, Trabbio Castle was built early in the 15th century, and Cafaggiolo Castle was built in the mid-15th century.

Truffle hunt and cooking class - Fantastic experience ! Following the dog to find hidden truffles is an adventure worth doing ! And making the pasta incorporating the truffles after was a gastronomic delight.
Paolo was extremely helpful coordinating our arrival and departure . Couldn’t ask for a better authentic experience !
